Khrychikov V. Y. et al. Superdispersed Inoculants to Improve Casting Quality
New types of superdispersed inoculants (SDI) for improving iron casting quality have been developed and mastered. Treatment of cast iron with SDI makes it possible to refine the structural components, remove chill, increase strength. Service durability of parts made of SDI-inoculated iron is 30 to 50% higher than that of serially produced parts.

Goltvanichenko V. V. et al. Making Corrosion-Resistant Grade 02X25H22AM2 Steel in a Foundry
Application of gas-oxygen refinement (COR) process at ÎÀÎ Armaprom's foundry enabled the company to extend the assortment and improve the quality of metal products made of corrosion-resistant steels. By its mechanical properties and intercrystalline corrosion grade 02X25H22AM2 steel made by the duplex process "electric furnace — GOR converter" using conventional charge materials and ferroalloys meets all the requirements established in the regulatory documentation currently in force.

Yurin Y. M. Design of Solidification Process of Steel Castings in Dry Sand Molds
Nomogram-based methods of designing the solidification processes of steel castings of the flat wall, cylinder and ball types in dry sand molds to a predetermined relative thickness are presented.

Branchukov D. V. et al. Physical-and-Mechanical Properties of Grade AK12 Alloy Treated with New Combined Fluxes
The results of experimental investigation oriented on working out the new combined flax composition and aluminum alloys purification technology has been presented. There was established that the combined flax application in comparison with traditional flax, allows to increase alloy's tensile strength on 9,5% percentage elongation on 55% with decreases porosity on ball.

Yemelyanov V. O. Structurization of Ceramic Mold in Investment Casting
The authors have investigated the process of ceramic mold (CM) structurization. The have found that the rate of release of silicic acid gel and the affinity of reaction depend on pH of the refractory slurry or presence of electrolyte in the solution. In case of deviation both conditions cause an extremely short life of the slurry (10 to 60 sec), which is not compatible with the investment casting process. The terminal rates of solvent filtration, pattern compound's heat resistance limitations, undercutting of pattern blocks allow realizing only terminal drying rates. Fulfillment of the highest possible drying rate to reduce the stationary state existence time when making shells based on aqueous silica sol "Armosil" makes it possible to produce CM having dense structure.

Naidek V. L et al. Synchronizing Control over Heat-and-Mass Transfer Processes in the Casting — Mold System
It is shown, that synchronizing management in many cases is unique in relation to the processes proceeding in the foundry form. Examples of synchronizing management for various ways of moulding are resulted. It is offered to expand opportunities of automated management due to its distribution on all stages of life cycle of the form, since designing process.

Treshchalin V. V. et al. Investigating the Operation of a Plow-Rotor Mixer
Methods and formulae of calculating the power of plow-rotor mixers have been developed. It has been shown that total driving power (other conditions being equal) with the crank arm and rotor rotating in opposite directions is 20 to 30% lower than at unidirectional rotation. Power measurements made on a pilot mixer showed that the divergence of calculation and experimental data for cold-hardening sands is within 20%.
