Possibilities of joint action of several treatment methods on the properties of high-strength cast iron by refining graphite inclusions have been investigated.

Graphite nucleation in the melt of commercial iron has been investigated by the method of X-ray spectrum analysis.

Kulbovsky I.K. Predicting the Structure of Alloys by the Electronic Structure of their Atoms
Dependence of the elements' physical-and-chemical properties on the accumulative value of the ionization potentials of their valence electrons is discussed. Methods of determining the electronic concentration of alloys and predicting the areas of existence of solid solutions, intermediate phases and chemical compounds of alloys have been developed.
