Afanasyev V.K., Kolba A.V., Tolstoguzoov V.N. Development Tools from white Cast Iron without the Use of Alloying
In this paper we show how to obtain and the possibility of using white cast iron as a material for the manufacture of machining tool low cost without using a special doping expensive carbide-forming elements. The methods of melt processing and heat treatment, allowing to improve certain properties of cast iron to a level widely used alloy tool materials. Provides information on the testing of the resulting iron tool.

Manolov V., Cherepanov A., Lazareva R., Konstantinova S. Effect of Nanopowder Inoculants on the Structure and Properties of Aluminium Alloy AlSi7Mg Effectiveness of using inoculants from metal-clad TiN and AlN nanopowders for refining the structure and improving the mechanical characteristics of cast AlSi7Mg alloy was studied in the work. It is shown that inoculation of AlSi7Mg alloy with nanopowders TiN+Al (0.03 … 0.35%) and AlN+Al+Cu (0.05 … 0.1%) results in considerable presence of globular structure, 26 … 28% reduced average grain diameter, and 15% reduced DAS, as well as in higher microhardness and refinement of silicon particles and ntermetallides.

Study of Influence of Casting Parameters on the Structure of Aluminium-Zirconium System Alloy The study of influence of casting parameters and type of master alloy on the structure of ingots of an experimental Al-Zr system alloy showed that at the melting and pouring temperature of 900°C and 880°C no precipitation of primary Al3Zr crystals occurs. Ingot casting regimes are proposed for making wrought semi-finished products with the purpose of producing electrical engineering articles with enhanced mechanical and service properties.

Khomutov M.G., Solonin A.N., Churyumov A.Y. Modeling of Properties of High-Strength Al Alloys during their Heat Treatment Quantitative relationships of influence of main structural and process parameters on strength properties of aluminium alloys have been determined. On the basis of the relationships obtained there has been built a model for calculating yield strength of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys after strengthening heat treatment. The model developed showed a high accuracy, the error between calculated and experimental values does not exceed 10%.

Pozdnyakov A.V., Zolotorevsky V.S. On the Evaluation of Hot Brittleness of Aluminium Alloys during their Development By example of dual systems Al-Cu, Al-Mg and Al-Si there has been studied the correlation of the experimentally determined index of hot brittleness (IHB) with a calculated effective range of crystallization (ERC). Good convergence between the calculated and experimental ERC has been established. An attempt has been made to study the microstructure of dual Al alloys in solid-liquid state. It is shown that with the cooling rates in the range of 2500 to 25000 K/min used in the work the structure present at hardening temperature cannot be fixed. By thermodynamic calculations of ERC there has been conducted a search for promising multi-component compositions for creating high-tech Al alloys.

Makhov S.V. Aluminium Master Alloys from Thixotropic State of Melt The article discusses casting properties of aluminium master alloys with refractory metals, their castability depending on the shape and size of intermetallides, as well as process parameters of obtaining master alloys from liquid-solid state.

Olenyova T.I., Imayev V.M., Imayev R.M. Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Intermetallide ?-TiAl Alloy Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-43.7Al-3.5 (Nb.Mo.Cr.B) alloy in cast (after gas-static treatment) and heat-treated states were studied. It is shown that the application of heat treatment results in reduction of medium size of colonies from d = 52±3 μm to 35±5 μm. The alloy in cast state shows a high level of mechanical properties close to those of the best cast γ-TiAl alloys.

Application of casting on consumable patterns technology for producing casts with hard-alloy insert In the work method of casts with let-in hard-alloy plates producing during casting on consumable patterns is treated. Casts are fixed in demanded polystyrene model surfaces, and then grouted by metal fusion.
