Ertman S.A., Kolba A.V., Oreshonkov A.I., Turkin D.M., Sokolovsky V.K., Ivanova Y.F. Making Beaters from Cupola Iron for Coal-Milling Equipment
Experimental production work on making beater-type parts for coal crushing mills has been carried out at an iron foundry. A lot of beaters have been produced from cupola iron by chill mold casting. Annealing, metallographic analysis have been performed, mechanical properties of the beaters have been determined. High hardness and increased impact resistance of the beaters have been obtained. Compositions of micro alloyed white iron (WI), pouring conditions have been proposed, a complex of measures have been taken to minimize casting defects and precisely ensure preset geometrical parameters and cast iron beater masses have been realized.

Voronin Yu.F., Voronin S.Yu. Seldom Liquidated Defects in a Zone of Radius R 55 of Casting "the Frame Lateral"
The most difficult for recognition in radius R55 defect of casting "the Frame lateral" is conditionally named "crack". The carried out researches have allowed to establish the following. Considered defect is a gas bowl, getting on small depth in a cavity of casting and deformed by liquid metal in the course of gas pressure decrease in a bowl that leads to its similarity of a crack. Gas pressure decrease in shape can lead to liquidation of considered defects.

Stulov V.V., Lukin V.A. Making Hollow Aluminum Castings in a Chill Mold
Results of calculating the temperature distribution over the height of a chill mold wall and with a central core installed therein during heating of the chill mold and pouring an aluminum alloy into it are given. Temperature of the casting being removed has been determined. Novelty of the results has been confirmed by a patent for invention. Use of a central core in the form of heat pipe reduces the casting solidification time and temperature gradient on the wall surface, increases the service time of the chill casting machine.
