Kuzmin P.B., Kuzmina M.Y. About production of primary siluminsingots medified with strontium
A raw of production regularities of primary casting alloys ingots AlSi7Mg; AlSi7MgSr; AlSi11Mg; AlSi11MgSrwere studied. The features of melting and casting of the alloys as well as influence of strontium and silicon on shrink defects formation were examined. It was reviled that strontium as modifier not only changes the silicon morphology but also the type of alloy solidification and shrinkage. The particular attention was given to defects on the ingots based on almost eutectic AlSi11MgSr alloy.

New developments of processes of melting in a protective environment and study of properties of alloys of the system Mg–Al–Zn (ML5 and VML18) in casting of large-size castings in the mold and casting in shapes of cold-hardening mixtures are conducted to increase the purity and quality of casting magnesium alloys, and also to improve the ecological situation in the magnesium production shops.

Yevstigneyev A.I., Dmitriyev E.A. , Saigushkina V.A. Core Sand with a Sulfate Binder
The work presents results of investigating inorganic salt binder consisting of a MgSO4-Na2SO4 salt mixture. Effect of sodium sulfate content on the strength characteristics of core sand is evaluated. Also presented are data of thermal analysis of binary MgSO4-Na2SO4 salts with different sodium contents, the factor of sand hardening temperature and amount of sodium sulfate therein is taken into consideration, microstructural analysis of sand samples being investigated is given, and corresponding conclusions are made.

Kidalov N.A., Osipova N.A., Potashova I.Y. Using Products of Vegetable Oil Filtration in Molding Sands
In the investigated compositions of molding sand - clay mixtures (ASG), in which as a technological additives injected filter-press residue (FPO), obtained during the cleaning of vegetable mustard and camelina oils. Adding 1.0-2.0% of the FPO in the ASG are improving technological properties of mixtures: increase the fluidity, survivability, reduced adhesion to modelling-technological equipment.

The composition and heat treatment technology for ductile iron parts is proposed.

The article presents an investigation into a material for gasifiable pattern casting of railroad car parts. The results of the investigation into the casting produced showed the possibility of using D833B polystyrene, which allowed to obtain a high precision and good surface finish of the casting.

Yurkov I.I., Anikin M.V. Enhancement of Service Durability of Dies and Chill Molds for Casting Nonferrous Alloys
Increasing service life of dies and chill molds used for casting nonferrous alloys is topical for existing foundries. This subject is given much attention. At the same time,the process of using casting tooling is very complex and multifaceted, as it requires taking into account many factors, and therefore has no universal solutions. At the same time, the possibility of enhancing service durability of casting tooling should be pointed out. The article focuses on this subject.
