Dronyuk N.N., Dronyuk I.N. Cold-resistant nodular iron
Cryogenic and other areas of engineering require cheap and reliable cold-resistant structural metallic materials. As such materials it is advisable to use cold-resistant nodular irons. The article presents the results of developments on the production of cold-resistant unalloyed nodular irons. The data on the change in the strength and plastic properties of cold-resistant unalloyed nodular irons are presented depending on a decrease in the test temperature from +20?C to –150?C. The areas of application of cold-resistant unalloyed nodular irons are recommended.

Shcherbakova E.P., Kovalyova T.V., Arinova S.K., Adamova G.H. Effect of ultrasonic melt treatment on mechanical properties of antifriction cast iron AChS-2
The influence of ultrasound and chromium content in cast iron ASCh-2 on the mechanical properties of castings was considered. According to the results of the study, it is proposed to treat AChS-2 alloy with amplitude of 150 mcm and frequency of 125 Hz. It was also considered the curl temperature in terms of maximum fluid flow. As a result of the complex impact of ultrasound and certain process parameters, it is possible to manufacture parts of soil pumps with improved operational properties.

Doroshenko V.S. Method for detoxication of gases emitted from a casting mold during the lost foam casting
The work is devoted to the lost foam casting carried out mainly in evacuated sand molds. The proposed mprovements are intended for the production of medium- to large-sized castings. For stable combustion of gases in various gating systems in evacuated molds by removing the gasification products from the moving gap between the liquid metal and the model material to the upper surface of the mold and burning these products, we used the supply of airflow into this gap through the tube and channel in the model. Oxygen of the supplied air partially oxidized the gas-vapour phase of hydrocarbons in the model, and the nitrogen of the air displaces the gas to the exit from the mold for combustion on its surface, where the gas burns as a smell-less torch to provide complete neutralization. Combustion of gases outside the mold allows a significant reduction in the power and energy consumption of the exhaust ventilation, improves working conditions in the foundry and has an environmental-friendly effect due to reducing harmful pollutions.

General information about investment casting is given. A special attention is drawn to the formation of a ceramic shell, namely to suspension, dusting and hardening conditions. A new dusting material called "neorganika" is proposed for treatment of mold shells.

Popov A. Implementation of Laempe core-making technologies at the foundries of one of the largest technology holdings in China
The article describes the current state of the foundry industry in China and promising development trends. An example of equipping one of the largest automobile concerns of the world with most modern core-making equipment is shown.

Pribylov A.V., Shapovalov Yu.P., Glushen E.M. Gas cleaning equipment in foundry
The relevance of the use of gas cleaning equipment in foundry production is considered. Examples are given of equipping the casting, cooling and knocking areas of molds and rods manufactured according to Alfa set- and Cold-box-amin processes with absorption- biochemical installations (ABCHI) for cleaning the ventilation air from pollutants. The technical and economic parameters of the ABCHI operation are considered. The advantages of using ABCHI in comparison with alternative methods are considered.
