Nikitin V.I. Current State and Prospects for the Foundry Industry – the Main Procurement Basis of Machine Building
Current state, problems and some prospects for the foundry science and industry are set forth. An analytical review is done, and a number of proposals on the change in the situation on the regional and federal levels are defined.

Zemtsov V.A., Meshkov D.A., Sazonenko I.O. Use of Split Electrode in Electroslag Remelting
The application of split electrode with different cross-section of components is considered. The advantage of its application as compared to solid ring electrode is shown. There are determined more rational sections of components of split electrode in the article.

Stetsenko V.Y., Rivkin A.I., Sidorsky A.A. Production of Wrought Ingots from Hypereutectic Silumin
It is shown that casting in crystallizer with flood-fluid power cooling system allows to produce the wrought ingots out ofhypereuiectic silumin without application of additional operations of thermoplastic deformation and annealing.

The models of interrelations of emissions with surfaces and ways of transformation of revealed technological characteristics in commutated structure of pneumatic-optical conversions are considered.

Kharkov V.A. , Savchenko Y.V. Automatic Continuous Casting Line Control System
The peculiarities of automation of the continuous horizontal casting line are examined in the article. The variants of application of different cutoff mechanisms are analyzed, the description of automatic contour band cutoff unit, working in combination with continuous casting line, is given.

Afanasyev V.K. The Hydrogen Platform of the Periodic Table of Elements
A new view on the essence of chemical elements and their systematization is given. A version of the periodic table in that the basic role is assigned to hydrogen. Practical possibilities of using the proposed table in the field of metallurgy and material science are discussed in detail.

Bykov Ju.A. Constructional nanomaterials
The attempt of a holistic systematic approach to the knowledge of structure and features for design nanomaterials properties formation has been presented in this work. The new understanding of structure at nano- and microlevels based on specific properties of nanomaterials is suggested. Six groups of nanoelements representing main properties of design nanomaterials have been designated based on structure and border type features. Some Technological aspects of their practical realizations have been considered.

The technological capabilities of a unit for melting with rotation and liquid-phase reduction of an oxide-containing charge material are discussed. Results of mathematical modeling are given for the most frequently used metal stirring patterns.

Ivanova V.A. Procedure of Foundry Coke Quality Assessment
A procedure of assessing the foundry coke quality meeting the specifications of GOST 3340-88 “Foundry Coal Coke. Specifications” is proposed. The procedure is intended to ensure charge composition consistency when melting iron in a coke cupola.

Bakhmatov P.V., Melkostupov K.A. Stir Friction Welding of High-Strength Aluminum Alloy B95
Capabilities of stir friction welding for joining unweldable and limitedly weldable materials, in particular, high-strength aluminum alloy were investigated.

Korotayev D.N. Technological Possibilities of Materials Nanostructuring by Electric-Spark Alloying
A material structure on the nano-, micro- and macro-level, and change in its properties after electric-spark alloying was examined. Effect of such treatment on the improvement of antifriction properties of coatings is shown.
