Peculiarities of the effect of carbon, silicon and casting wall thickness on the structure formation and hardness of hypereutectic steel inoculated with nickel-magnesium master alloy and silicobarium have been investigated. Conditions of making thin-walled castings from spheroidal graphite steel with perlite-ferrite metallic base without structurally free cementite have been determined.

Malyashov I.N. et al. Experience of Using Burn-on Preventing Additives in the Production of Iron Castings
The article discusses the experience of using in the domestic foundry industry a new complex burn-on preventing additive Bleskol-P developed by ZAO VNHK. The additive is being used by more than 20 foundries including OAO AvtoVAZ, AMO ZIL in the production of critical iron castings on automatic and mechanized molding lines. Practically in all cases reduction of casting surface defects has been noted. Special investigations have shown that when using the additive Bleskol-P the concentration of harmful substances - benzol, phenol, carbon oxide in the atmosphere of the foundry is considerably lower than the maximum concentration limit.
Shishkin A.A. et al. Sand Separation Systems in Foundries
Methods of analyzing and synthesizing sand separation systems using transmissive functions of devices is proposed. Mathematical expressions for building transmissive functions of systems, process analysis and determining the limit values of accumulation of metallic inclusions in sand, and determining the power of their sources have been derived.
