The article discusses new temperature measurement methods and instruments used in the foundry and metallurgical industry, as well as recommendations on the reduction of measurement inaccuracies.

Development of Materials for and Method of Making Bimetallic Pressing Tools
A method of making bimetallic pressing tools is set forth, wherein high-strength austenitic-bainitic iron is used as a back-up layer, and a new steel of grade 2H16N19TZYu2MBRF (2Х16Н19ТЗЮ2МБРФ) is used for die impression. Addition of alloying elements to the steel and method of melting it are substantiated. A process of manufacturing bimetallic "Autoforge" dies, whose durability is 6.4 times that of serial dies from grade 4H5MFS (4Х5МФС) steel, is presented.
