Sandulyak A.V., Sandulyak A.A., Samokhin V.V., Svistunov D.I., Yershova V.A. Control of Ferroinclusions in Molding Sand by Polycyclic Magnetic Test-Separation
It was shown an unacceptability of existing method of the control of ferroinclusions (focused on data acquisition of especially iron oxide) in forming materials of foundry manufacture. So, such method is unacceptable from the point of view of an estimation of magnet active impurities. Results of definition of content such inclusions in a forming mixture by method polycyclic magnetophoresis with use of pilot magnetic separator are given.

Merkushev A.G., Bystrov M.V. Production of High-Quality Aluminium Castings by Low-Pressure Casting
In article are considered 4 types of low-pressure casting are described; results of mechanical testing of castings for all methods are summarized in a table. Conclusions have been made from the test results.
Key words: atmospheric pressure, excessive pressure, low-pressure casting under atmospheric conditions, low-pressure Al-casting into an evacuated mold, counterpressure casting, vacuum suction casting, process automation.

Ivanko E.K. Dynamic Factors Emergings Of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Liquid Metal in Conditions of Centrifugal Moulding
In work are considered, on the basis of laws of hydrodynamics, the dynamic factors influencing nonmetallic inclusions at their emerging in liquid metal in conditions of centrifugal moulding. It is shown, that emerging of nonmetallic inclusions occurs not only under action of centrifugal forces, but also, arising at emerging, tangential forces. Movement of nonmetallic inclusions occurs not in a radial direction as is standard to count, and on more complex trajectory having a tangential component. Influence of the form of nonmetallic inclusions on their emerging is considered. Key words: nonmetallic inclusions, centrifugal moulding, hydrodinamics, liquid metal

Turilova K. Comparison of Russian and European foundries against the key performance indicators total effective equipment productivity and capacity utilization
This article continues the series of publications on the results of the recent resource efficiency benchmarking study of Russian ferrous foundry industry. The author highlights how foundries can improve their operational performance by looking specifically at two of seven key performance indicators (KPIs) - total effective equipment productivity and capacity utilization. Next articles in this series will present benchmarking results and recommendations for further improvements in another four KPIs: energy consumption, sand consumption, fresh water consumption, labor productivity.

Kats A.M. On the Choice of an Optimum Target Function of an Automatic Control System for a Casting Process
The earlier proposed target functions of an automatic control system for a casting process have been analyzed and their drawbacks have been shown. A target function of an automatic control system for a casting process based on the casting competitiveness criterion has been proposed as an optimal one. Importance of establishing the dependence of the index of beneficial effect from the use of a cast product by the consumer (product's service life or an indirect output parameter replacing said direct parameter) on a complex of particular casting quality indices has been shown. Advantages of the proposed target function of an automatic control system for a casting process has been substantiated, opening a possibility of an automated control of casting competitiveness.
Key words: automatic control system for a casting process, target function of automatic control system for a casting process, discounted income, specific cost, casting quality, service life, gross consumption price, beneficial effect, competitiveness, indirect output parameter, control criterion, technical parameters, economic parameters.
