Shumikhin V.S. Production of Continuous-Cast Iron Blanks with a Complex Cross Section
The joint works within the period of 1980…1985 of ITM AN of Belarus, Institute of casting problems of AN Ukraine and Kaunas works "Tsentrolit" in the field of grey and high-strength cast iron hardening, developments of crystallizers constructions and technologies of production of ingots of compound cross-section by method of horizontal continuous casting, are described.
Key words: high-strength cast iron, crystallizer, wear resistance, method of horizontal continuous casting.
Stetsenko V.Y., Rivkin A.I. Effect of Carbon Nanotubes on the Structure and Friction Wear Resistance of Cast Babbits
It is shown that carbonic nanotubes, introduced into the melt of babbit B-10, in the quantity of 0,05% of metal mass grind castings microstructure and improves their friction wear resistance.
Key words: carbon nanotubes, babbit, wear resistance, microstructure.
Marukovich Y.I. , Branovitsky A.M., Dementyev V.A. , Lebedinsky Y.A. Hydromodelling of Casting Processes
The description of equipment for hydrodynamic experiments and methods of hydromodeling of foundry processes, allowing to carry out three-dimensional modeling of filling process, is given. This method can be used for identification of numerical models and development of casting technology of the new types of production.
Key words: hydromodelling, metal flow, casting defects, mold filling, die casting
Baranovsky A.E., Ilyushenko V.M., Baranovsky E.F., Korotkin G.P. Increasing Service Life of Special Equipment Parts from Wear-Resistant Chromium Irons
The ways of working resource increase of the wear-resistant chromic cast irons details of equipment on production of brick of clay and centrifugal grinders are examined. The experimental wear-resistant cast iron as substitute of H28N2 is offered.
Key words: wear-resistant chromium Irons, centrifugal grinders, service life
Baranovsky E.F. , Pumpur V.A., Ilyushenko V.M., Baranovsky K.E. Solidification of Wear-Resistant Chromium Iron Casting in Chill, Sand and Combined Molds
The comparative analysis of hardening of ingot of abrasion-resistant chromic iron in chill, sand and combination molds is carried out according to the results of mathematical and computer calculations.
Key words: wear-resistant chromium iron, sand mold, chill mold, combined mold.
Stetsenko V.Y., Rivkin A.I. , Gutev A.P. Centrifugal Casting of Antifriction Silumin
It is shown that the way of centrifugal casting into water-cooled mould with vertical rotation axis enables to receive hollow slugs with diameter 100…250 mm, with height under 200 mm with wall thickness under 15 mm of antifriction silumin AK15M3, which will replace expensive antifriction bronze.
Key words: centrifugal casting, antifriction silumin, cooling, slide bearing.
Afanasyev V.K., Prudnikov A.N. Effect Hydrogen Saturation of Melt in Electromagnetic Field on Linear Expansion of Cast Silumins
Influence of processing a melt silumins, consisting in hydrogenation water the ferry in an electromagnetic field, on linear expansion casting is studied {investigated} at heating. It is shown, that the given processing allows to lower considerably temperature factor of linear expansion casting metal mold and moldings under pressure preparations (up to 300°C): for alloy Al-20%Si - on 5…20%, Al-11%Si - on 3…14 % in comparison with alloys without processing.
Key words: electromagnetic field, silumin, hydrogen saturation of melt, chill mold.
Denisyuk T.D. , Simanovsky V.M. , Rizun A.R. Electric Discharge Pulse Compaction of Molding Sands
Results of experimental studies on the electric discharge pulse compaction of molding sands in green molding are set forth. Possibility of obtaining a density of the investigated molding sand of 1790 kg/m3 (compressive strength 0.21 MPa) has been established.
Keywords: electric bit impulsive pressing, formovochnye mixtures, closeness of formovochnykh mixtures, humidity of forms
Turilova K.K. Comparison of Russian and European foundries against the key performance indicators of consumption and efficiency of use of: energy, water
This article continues the series of publications on the results of the recent resource efficiency benchmarking study of Russian ferrous foundry industry. The author highlights how foundries can improve their operational performance by looking specifically at four of seven key performance indicators (KPIs) - energy, fresh sand and water consumption. Next articles in this series will present brief guide on self diagnostics for foundries to benchmark themselves against Key performance indicators.
