Bazyleva O.A., Bondarenko Y.A., Kalitsev V.A., Arginbayeva E.G. Effect of High-Temperature Gas-Static Treatment on the Properties of BKHA-1B Intermetallide Alloy Investigation into the effect of high-temperature gas- static treatment (HTGST) on the structure and microporosity of cast nozzle blades and fatigue characteristics of monocrystal specimens with the crystallographic orientation <111> of a Ni3Al-based alloy BKHA-1B. Positive role of HTGST in enhancing the performance and reliability of the intermetallide alloy at high temperatures and possibility of combining the operations of thermal and gas-static treatment is shown.

Magnetic Pulse Treatment of AK9T Silumin Melt Effect of magnetic pulse treatment (MPT) of melt on the structure and properties of AK9T alloy was investigated. Effect of MPT parameters on the temperatures of ?-Al dendrites and (Al+Si) eutectic formation was determined. It was found that at certain MPT parameters (discharge energy, number of pulses) the alloy’s casting properties improve, favorable changes in the structure occur, and, as a consequence, the alloy’s as-cast mechanical properties improve. On the basis of the investigations carried out, MPT was classified as a special physical method of treatment of Al alloys in liquid and crystallizing state.

Veinova O.A., Kostikov A.A., Kuznetsov A.A. A Method of Heat Insulation of Large Steel Casting Riser Metal Surface When casting of large blank a lot of metal is consumed on casting heads that improve the cast feeding. This paper covers the heat insulation of the metal heel of large casting heads in order to decrease the consumption of metal for casting heads. The developed method will decrease the casting head weight by 25…30%.

Pereverzeva O.N. Calculation of Aerator Motion Speed during Flask Filling with Molding Sand Due to higher requirements on cast part surface, the molding sand (MS) quality issue arises acutely. To improve quality of subsequent imprint, loosening of sand is required, for which purpose screens are used in single-piece production. Whereas for serial production they use automatic equipment. By sketches of western counterparts there has been designed and an aerator for flask filling with MS. In order to adequately use such a unit optimal speed of aerator movement over the flask being filled is to be set. The methods of designing boxes from which flasks are filledwere modified in the article.

Kvasha F.S. Simulating the Stabilization Process of the Facing Sand – Filler Sand System. Part 1 A system of calculations is proposed allowing to analyze the influence of foundry mold parameters available to a foundry technologiston the selection of optimal refreshing and consumptionof materials, stabilization process of the facing sand – filler sand system. Calculation examples are given. Calculation results are estimating and substantially depend on the reliability of basic data. Therefore they must be adjusted by taking into account the balance of materials in the sand preparation system in question.

Volkov V.N., Zudova M.S. Device for lead-in disperse particles in a liquid alloy at pouring it casting form In the article is considered results of researches of disperse particles input to flux at suspension pouring. Investigation results of the process of introducing disperse particles in a melt during suspension casting are presented. Application of an original suspension casting unit design using microchills in the form of disperse metallic particles will make it possible to more widely adopt the suspension casting for regulating crystallization, increasing metal density, improving crack resistance and performance characteristics.

Bezpalko V.I., Batyshev A.I., Smykov A.F., Berezhnoy D.V., Finogenova Y.M. Simulation of Casting with Crystallization under Pressure in Procast System Special features of computer simulation of casting with crystallization under pressure (CCP) of aluminium alloys in “Procast” computer simulation system by ESI Group are discussed. Distribution of temperature fields in the die and an experimental casting has been analyzed. Formation of solid phase and effective stresses in the casting under the conditions of piston pressure and gravity casting has been studied. Comparison of computer design and real experiment results has been conducted, and it has been shown that the simulation pattern proposed can be used in designing shaped castings made by the CCP method.

Timchenko S.L., Hartmann R. Application of Electromagnetic Forces in the Casting Process A method of manufacturing microproducts comprising a complex of operations and allowing to produce cast microproducts with better service properties is discussed. Using external electromagnetic pulse action the method allows to fill a micromold with liquid metal in the case when gravity, capillary forces (wettable capillary) do not create sufficient pressure for filling the mold with liquid metal and extracting the finished product. For that purpose there was used the action of pulsedAmpère force owing to external magnetic field and electromagnetic force owing to the current’s own magnetic field. Application of electromagnetic action makes it possible to control the movement of metal into the mold, the material’s physical properties in the conditions of phase transition, and creates favorable conditions for three-dimensional nucleation.
Key words: Microproduct, electric current, magnetic field, Ampère force.
