Andreyev V.V., Kovalevich Y.V., Nuraliyev F.A. Prospects of Domestic Large-Tonnage Iron Casting Production
Current state and prospects of domestic large-tonnage iron casting production from flake-graphite iron and spheroidal graphite iron (SGI) for various industries is discussed. Regularities of changing their mechanical properties depending on casting wall thickness are shown. Peculiarities of mold design for making large-tonnage castings are described. There has been made a conclusion that in our country there exist all the prerequisites for the production of unit-cast bodies of packing-and-transport sets from SGI and other large-tonnage iron castings with a mass of up to 120 t.

Afanasyev V.K. The pH of the mechanism of discharge of graphite in cast iron
We proposed a mechanism for the formation of a hydrogen discharge of graphite in gray iron. Allocation of graphite in cast iron regarded as a manifestation of one of the varieties of hydrogen embrittlement. The legitimacy of the proposed mechanism experimentally confirmed the creation of a new, having no analogues in the world, the material - pig iron no discharge of graphite.

Kolokoltsev V.M., Molochkov P.A., Vorobyov B.S., Murakhtin A.V., Voronkov B.V. Enhancing the Service Properties of Cast Centrifugal Pump Parts
The ways of improving the wear resistance of cast parts for centrifugal pumps manufactured from chromium cast irons are considered in the article. The authors show the relation between the composition, structure and properties of chromium-nickel and chromium-manganese cast iron, they also offer recommendations on alloying elements content providing proper microstructure and characteristics. They also developed the new composition of cast iron with high performance characteristics and studied its microstructure and properties. A pilot batch of castings from cast iron of new composition was manufactured and the successful industrial tests proved the increase of centrifugal pumps service life.

Filippov S.F., Semyonov K.G., Sorokina Y.A., Batyshev K.A. Properties of Cold-Hardening Sand with M-3 Binder
The following properties of a cold-hardening sand (CHS) composed of sand Ц 97.5 Е 96.9%; binder Ц synthetic resin M-3 Ц 2.0 Е 2.5%; catalyst Ц orthophosphoric acid Ц 0.5 Е0.6%: dry tensile strength, gas permeability and heat resistance have been studied. The studyТs results made it possible to specify CHS application for making light non-ferrous alloy castings.

Kidalov N.A., Osipova N.A., Knyazeva A.S., Saharova A.A. The effect of lignin-alkaline reagent on the properties of molding mixtures using highly concentrated water-clay suspensions
The technological properties of bentonite molding mixtures which structure includes bentonite water-clay suspensions with the addition of viscosity reducer Ц lignin-alkaline reagent are studied in this paper. The results show that the introduction of ligninalkaline reagent improves physical and mechanical properties of the mixture, such as limit strength, poured density and rammability.

Goncharenko Y.S., Trapeznikov A.V. Method of Making Al Alloy Castings for Aerospace Technology
Shaped castings of aluminum alloys have a strong place among constructional materials used in the products of many sectors of the economy due to valuable complex of properties. The primary scope of application of casting aluminum alloys is aircraft, automotive, electrical machinery, appliances. The article provides data on groups used for casting aluminum alloys. Special attention is paid to copper silumin, namely thehigh-strength and technological alloy AL4MS and mid-strength AL32. Shaped castings obtaining method by centrifugal, adding dispersed particles to the melt is shown. Perspectives of development and applications of the casting of aluminum alloys are shown.

VKM-Steel ltd. is one of the few enterprises in the industry of casting production for car-building consumption, where the foundry has been successfully modernized on the basis of the up to the minute German moulding and core-shooting equipment. The introduction of the vacuum moulding line allowed achieving excellent casting quality, which includes production of bogie parts of new type with improved structural behaviour.
