Alexandrov N.N., Bekh N.I., Radchenko M.V., Zubkov A.A., Poddubny A.N., Kazantsev A.G. The Capabilities of High-Strength Nodular Iron AreInexhaustible. Part 2
High-strength nodular iron created 65 years ago has been recognized as an unsurpassed construction material by the diversity of its technical applications toproduce cast products for the most critical applications. Nowadays high-strength nodular iron is widely used to produce parts of any mass and geometrical complexity for various applications in all industry branches of every country. First of all the multifunctionality of its diverse application as a material having no analogs in the world practice should be pointed out.
Key words: spheroidal graphite, inoculants, carbon equivalent, high-strength iron, eutectic alloy.
Kosnikov G.A., Morozova L.M. Austempered Ductile Iron
The as-cast properties of ductile iron can be significally improved through an austempering heat treatment. This has lad to the birth of a new perspective material – Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) with spheroidal graphite in an ausferritic matrix and the excellent property combination.
Key words: austempered ductile iron.
