Andreyev V.V. Mechanical Characteristics of Nodular Iron in Critical Large-Tonnage Castings
Presented are the results of investigating mechanical properties of nodular iron in large-tonnage castings. It is shown that the mechanical properties of high-strength irons directly in the body of housing castings differ insignificantly, and depend mainly on the mass and wall thickness of the casting, and the location where test specimens are cut out.

Desnitsky V.V., Matveyev I.A., Desnitskaya L.V. Analysis of Exhausting the Carrying Capability of Loaded Steel Castings
Failure of steel castings under loading is considered not as one-time critical event, but as a temporal process of gradual growth of fatigue cracks. The process is determined by the criterion of breaking resistance, whose distribution can be quantitatively determined through the relationship between that criterion and local solidification gradient.

Sergiyenko O.S. Possibilities of Eliminating Internal Defects in Ti Alloy Castings by Hot Isostatic Pressing
The influence of pore size and distance from the casting surface on resulting surface cavities is studied. Attained functional connections are described for VT5L alloy samples. The least significant geometrical disturbance of casting surface is achieved at maximum pore depth and minimum diameter.

Discusses the influence of alloying elements on the properties (resistance) of aluminium alloys.

The article discusses possible variants of gating systems for steel and iron castings using centrifugal slag traps. Their operation is analyzed, and recommendations on their application are given.

Dyachkov V.N., Paramonov A.M., Nikitin K.V. Influence of Technological Factors on the Quality of Steel Investment Castings
Presented are the results of investigations into the influence of charge composition, and refractory mold material on the quality of shaft casting from 40 steel. Using the computer-aided casting process simulation system LVMFlow, a correction of the gatingand-feeding system was carried out, which allowed to substantially reduce shrinkingrelated defects.

The article describes the basic parameters of directional solidification, which affect the formed structure, dispersion phase components. Ways of improving the quality of the structure by increasing the cross section castings.

Anderson V.A., Kotovich A.V. Experience of Mastering Innovation Technologies and Equipment
The article is dedicated to analyzing promising technologies: expanded pattern casting, vacuum-film molding, cold-hardening sand molding that ensure high quality of castings. PAO KAMET recommends choosing the technology and required equipment proceeding from the planned nomenclature of castings, by comparing said technologies in terms of adaptability to manufacture and cost efficiency.

Selesnev V.A. Manufacturing the master model for sand casting
