Import-replacing production of transport-and-packing sets with SG iron bodies. Set forth is the material science and technology experience of making critical castings container bodies of transport-and-packing sets at Petrozavodskmash Foundry. Discussed are the peculiarities of the graphitizing and spheroidizing inoculation, crystallization, solidification, structure formation and formation of mechanical properties of body castings iron. It is pointed out thatthe available practical experience and technological equipment at OOO Petrozavodskmash Foundry make it possible to fully replace import of bodies from high-strength SG iron for modern transport-and-packing sets with a high export potential, casting mass up to 160 tons and wall thickness up to 600 mm.

Batyshev A.I., Batyshev K.A. Hot tearing in steel castings depending on solidification conditions. Part IV
Presented are data on the cast structure and mechanical properties of castings made (under the conditions of free shrinkage of steel) in disposable (sand, shell, and chamotte) and permanent (metal) molds from grade 25LGOST 977-88 carbon steel molten in furnaces with acid (arc furnace) and basic (induction furnace) linings. Shown is the macro- and microstructure of castings, the latter also at hot tearing places.

Vasenin V.I., Sharov K.V. Investigation into the stape gate without the inverted sprue with feeders of variable cross-section
Flow rate in each feeder is define and part volume of the form, which fills from feeder. The most effective such system: diameter of lower feeder smaller diameter the nozzle, diameters of middle feeders equally diameter the nozzle, diameter of upper feeder considerable bigger diameter the nozzle. Flow rate in lower feeder is reduce in 2,2 one, flow rate in upper feeder is increase in 2,5 one.

Verin A.S. Casting of fatigue specimens with a predictable structure from type Ni3 (Al,Cr) alloy
A process casting of the fatigue samples with gradient-functional structure (GFS) was researched. For this aim it had been used the conventional directional solidification (CDS) method casting of nickel superalloys. The deficiency alloying elements such as Cr (Ta, W, Nb, Mo et. al.) are to introduce only into working part of the samples. In this case it is to preserve about 75% of the said elements.

Doroshenko V.S. The structure of the database on the basis of the concept of controlling the cooling rate of the casting in the mold the structure of the metal the metal-saving designs of the castings
In the development of the concept of combining the processes of obtaining high-strength alloys with methods of precise sand molding, a structure for creating a database from several sections is proposed. The interrelation of the data sections on the regulation of the cooling rate of the casting, the corresponding structures of the metal and the metal-saving constructions of the castings is described. The work was carried out on the basis of studies conducted under the guidance of prof. Shinsky O.Y. in PTIMA NAS of Ukraine. The advantages of the Lost Foam process and the experience of controlled cooling of castings in sandy form were used.
