Sirotkin S.А. Production of high-strength iron by using the Sandwich process
Parameters for production of cast iron with nodular graphite by the Sandwich process are consideredin the article. Calculations were made to define the amounts of the modifiers used – noduralizing modifiers and graphitizing modifiers, as well as casting time, charge composition and other process parameters.

Tulegenova Sh.N., Malashkevichute E.I., Medvedeva I.E., Dossimbekova A.K. Research of long durability of castings austenitic steel 12X18H10T and 20X23H18
The structure, mechanical properties and high-temperature characteristics of 12Х18Н10Т and 20Х23Н18 steels are investigated in the paper, depending on the heat treatment regime. Tests were carried out in the center of «Heat-resistant materials» of Karaganda State Technical University. The indices of long-term strength are determined depending on the content of chromium and titanium carbides, the separation of carbides such as MX and M23C6 as a result of heat treatment. The difference in the chemical composition of the steels 12X18H10T and 20X23N18 did not lead to a significant difference in the indices of long-term strength.

Information on the features of horizontal continuous casting of iron, crystallizers design, quality, structure and properties of the produced billets, and areas of their application is given. The main attention is paid to the production of continuously cast billets from microalloyed and modified irons, such as grey irons, vermicular graphite ironsand nodular graphite irons.

Livshits V.B., Kushnir А.P., Bobkova E.S. Peculiarities of shaping of casting in low pressure casting
The dynamics of the casting process under controlled low pressure is considered. Hydrodynamic and thermophysical features of this method are analyzed taking into account the variable meltmass. The ways to improve the quality of art cast articles are proposed on the basis of theoretical and experimental studies.

Verin А.S., Verin М.А. Metered directional solidification of blades of gas turbine engines. Opportunities and prospects
This work benefits casting technologies in which the root blades are cast, such as dosed directional solidification (DDS) casting method. The current study aims to optimize the strength characteristics material based – on Ni-12Al (Ni3Al) made via DDS method for the root blades in system Ni3Al–NiAl–2Al2O3.

Sokorev А.А. Peculiarities of the use of industrial refractory wastes in foundry technologies
The use of the shellmould scraps formed during investment casting (IC), as well as wastes of the ultrafine catalyst IM-2201 is consideredas applied to the foundry practices.
Key words: Ceramic wastes, casting, usage. The article is devoted to the description of the future design concept for foundries, in which great attention is paid to virtual production in the form of a management pyramid. It is noted that the procurement industry requires large capital investments.
