Svichkar A.S., Shibeev E.A., Garibyan G.S., Eremin E.N. About influence of the number and size of graphite inclusions on preshrinkable expansions and dimensional accuracy castings of high-strength cast iron
The effect of graphite inclusions on preshrinkable expansion in castings of highstrength cast iron is considered. A simulation model and software are proposed. It has been established that the preshrinkable expansion and as a consequence, the dimensional accuracy of castings of high-strength cast iron with spherical graphite are affected by the number and size of graphite inclusions. It is shown that in the fine-dispersed phase of graphite, the sample expansion is 1.74 times less than in the coarse-grained phase, and the dimensional accuracy of the sample is 2 classes higher.

Bazhenov V.E., Koltygin A.V., Titov A.Yu., V.D. Belov, Pavlinich S.P. Effect of ignition inhibitors on no-bake molds strength and oxide layer composition of ML19 magnesium alloy castings
In this work the influence of ignition inhibitors: sulfur (S), potassium tetrafluoroborate (KBF4) and boric acid (H3BO3), that used together and separately on the no-bake mold strength with furan or alpha-set binders were investigated. The optimal ignition inhibitors composition and quantity were determined. The oxide layer composition that formed on ML19 magnesium alloy castings surface in presence of ignition inhibitors was investigated.

Leushin I.O., Koshelev O.S., Subbotin A.Yu., Geyko M.A. The use of waste of chemical treatment of galvanized steel scrap from zinc coating as part of suspension in the composition of liquid-glass mixtures
A chemical method of refining galvanized steel scrap for using it in induction melting is considered. An option for using an aqueous solution of zinc chloride produced as a result of refining galvanized steel scrap as a technological additive that provides improved knocking-out ability while maintaining other technological properties at the required level in the composition of liquid-glass mixtures is proposed.

An influence of the shell composition on its properties is studied in the work. It has been established that the optimum composition to manufacture a shell for the investment casing under such conditions is as follows: Darat clay in the amount of 20...25%; chamotte rubble – 44...39%; ethyl silicate – 15%; ethyl alcohol – 15%; aluminum nitrate – 1%; water – 5%.

This work demonstrates the efficiency of use of large-size centrifugally cast billets for power engineering, both cast and forged, instead of solid stationary cast ingots with a relatively small forging grade (1.5…2.0) ensuring a considerable increase of physical and mechanical properties of the metal meeting the technical specification requirements.

Budanov E.N. Export of large steel railroad castings as result of implementation of vacuum molding technology
The article shows production results of steel castings using vacuum molding technology and compares the effectiveness of this innovative technology with other molding methods. Export opportunities of vacuum castings for economically developed countries are described.
