Gushchin N.S., Takhirov A.A., Nuraliev N.F., Kadochnikov S.V. New high workable nickel-chromium irons
An overview of research and development works carried out by NPO CNIITMASH JSC and examples of their manufacturing application in recent years are given.
Keywords:Nickel-chromium irons, wear-resistant castings, grinding mills, pumping units, asphalt concrete factories, microstructure, carbides, nodular graphite, processing and operational properties, heat treatment.

Livshits V.B., Kushnir A.P. Features of the formation of the surface layer of castings when contacting with the mold coating
An influence of molding materials in the composition of coatings on the formation of the surface layer of castings was investigated. The influence of various coatings on the shaping process was described. The role of coatings made of polycrystalline materials is considered as applied to this process. The main operational parameters to control the nucleation process of metal crystals in disposable and reusable molds were determined.
Keywords:Casting mold, coatings, surface layer, activity, crystal lattice, metal, symmetry.

Ermolenko A.A., Tkachenko S.S., Znamensky L.G. On the questions of energy saving in the production of castings using an environmentally friendly process
The paper considers one of the components of energy saving in the foundry - the manufacture of casting cores and molds. It is shown that the known processes involving synthetic resins are distinguished by increased environmental hazard and high cost of its prevention. Processes based on aluminoboron phosphate concentrate and "Inorganic" binders are free from such costs due to their chemical nature and therefore are more energy efficient.
Keywords:Cold-hardening mixtures, aluminoboron phosphate concentrate, inorganic.

Doroshenko V.S., Kaliuzhnyi P.B. Options for lost foam casting on a conveyor line
A review of the authors' publications on the lost foam casting made on the automatic conveyor lines is given. The advantages of the technologies in question are considered and the concept of the transferring of the lost foam casting process on the automatic conveyor lines is developed. The design of the tools for hanging the model cluster in the casting container and the list of operations are described. The advantages of the lost foam casting methods when transferring to the operation with the help of automatic conveyor lines are based on the use of flowable materials, variability of polystyrene foam preparation methods, making models, filling sand into a mold, sand compacting, pouring out and regenerating, as well as evacuating and filling a sand mould with metal, and removing casting from the mold. These processing steps, materials and tool designs can be varied and modified in dozens or more combinations. Moreover, dry foundry sand can be cooled and stored in a closed container in an unheated workshop; and most models can be stored for weeks. The combination of discrete operations with flows of flowable materials contributes to the transferring of the lost foam casting process on the automatic conveyor lines, as a synthesis of continuous-discrete process flows.
Keywords:Lost foam casting, automatic conveyor line, tool, flowable sand, mold, disposable molds.

Leushin I.O., Grachev A.N., Koshelev O.S., Leushinа L.I., Yavtushenko P.M. Prevention of surface defects formation on steel casting according to burning additive models
The results of a critical analysis of the known methods of preventing the formation of surface defects on steel casting using heat-removable models, which are taken as a basis for the development of an alternative, are presented. At the forefront of their version of solving the problem, the authors of the article put the improvement of wetting of the material of the model block with a suspension and an increase in its hiding power in order to minimize peeling, swelling, warping and cracking of the face layer of the casting mold, which should ultimately lead to a decrease in casting rejects due to surface defects. The course is described and the results of the performed experimental work are given.
Key words:Steel casting, surface defects, additive models, model block, refractory suspension.

Lazarenkov A.M., Nikalaichyk Y.A., Sadokha M.A. Analysis of working conditions and safety of foundry workers
The results of research and a comprehensive assessment of the working conditions and safety of workers in the foundry are presented. The production factors of working conditions in foundries with different types of production and their influence on injuries and occupational diseases of workers are considered. Recommendations are given for improving working conditions and reducing their impact on foundry workers.
Keywords:Working conditions, labor safety, foundry, production factor.
