Marukovich E.I., Stetsenko V.Y., Stetsenko A.V. Effect of hydrogen on crystallization of primary phases of casting alloys
It is shown that hydrogen is a demodifying element of the primary phases of silumin, iron-carbon alloys and tin bronze during their crystallization. Hydrogen atoms, adsorbing on elementary nanocrystals of aluminum in the melt of silumin, prevent the combination of nanocrystals into the nucleus of crystallization of microcrystals of ? -phase. Hydrogen atoms, adsorbing on elementary nanocrystals of iron in melts of iron-carbon alloys, prevent the combination of nanocrystals into the nucleus of crystallization of austenite microcrystals. Hydrogen atoms, adsorbing on elementary copper nanocrystals in the molten tin bronze, prevent the combination of microcrystals into the nucleus of crystallization of microcrystals of ?-phase.
Keywords:Casting alloys, primary phases, hydrogen, crystallization, melt, nanocrystals, adsorption, castings.

Malinov L.S. Obtaining metastable austenite in the surface layer of cemented steels to increase abrasive wear resistance
The results of research by the author and colleagues on improving the abrasive wear resistance of steels of various compositions, including construction and those with a high carbon content, by carburizing and subsequent quenching at a higher temperature than to achieve the highest hardness, as is usually accepted, are summarized. This ensures the formation of metastable austenite in the structure of the surface layer and the realization under the influence of abrasive action of dynamic deformational martensitic transformation – DDMT (the effect of self-hardening under loading – SHL), which increases self-protection against fracture. It is shown that the highest level of abrasive wear resistance of steels is achieved by obtaining the optimal amount and stability of residual austenite in their surface layer.
Keywords:Cementation, quenching, tempering martensite, metastable residual austenite, abrasive wear resistance, self- hardening effect under loading

Moiseev V.S., Berezhnoi D.V., Smykov A.F., Varfolomeev M.S., Bobryshev B.L. Calculation of the flow rate of titanium alloys through the mold channels during centrifugal casting
The features of mold filling during centrifugal casting of titanium alloys are analyzed. The questions and problems to be solved when simulating the casting process are considered. A procedure to calculate the melt flow in the channels of the casting mold and gating systems is described.
Keywords:Centrifugal casting, titanium alloys, process simulation, castings, gating system, mold filling, calculation.

Verin A.S. Microstructure of not alloyed Ni3Al and NiAl obtained by D.D.S. method
The microstructure and strength of not alloyed Ni3Al and NiAl very strongly depends from technological peculiar obtaining. The microstructure responsive for greatest strength corresponds to composition type obtaining by D.D.S method. This is when, the thin grid of primary ? phase of Ni3Al is disposed along direction to growth of ingot to provide high strength at 1200?C. The fibrous microstructure of NiAl, armature of super small powder Al2O3, provides also the high strength at this temperature.
Keywords:Composition-microstructure, DDS, fibrous, strength, phase.

Desnitsky V.V., Desnitskaya L.V., Matveev I.A., Lavrenov V.V. Comparison of the properties of molding mixtures cured with alkaline and furan binders
Currently, various synthetic resins are widely used as binding materials in the foundry. In the process of resin synthesis, the reactions are not completed, obtaining prepolymers. The resin film, having passed the polymerization stage, becomes a polymer, firmly connecting the individual grains of the mixture. The use of a particular type of binder is determined by specific production conditions. Basically furan systems give better strength compared to Dynoform S-380 and therefore require less binder. But, for example, it is impossible to use urea-(carbamide-) formaldehyde resin in steel casting, because it contains a fairly large amount of nitrogen (from carbamide) [1].Alkaline systems (Alpha-set-process) have a very low nitrogen content and therefore, in addition to cast iron and non-ferrous alloys, they can be used for steels. Moreover, when casting steels, there are other advantages such as: a good casting surface, better ductility and gas permeability compared to furan systems.
Keywords:Alpha-set-process, alkaline binders, acid binders, regeneration of the molding mixture.

Illarionov I.E., Strelnikov I.A., Gilmanshina T.R., Pestryaev D.A. Improvement of the properties of non-stick coatings by activation of graphites with glyceroborates
The results of the study of properties of crypto-crystalline graphite activated by glyceroborates are presented. It has been experimentally established that activation of the crypto-crystalline graphite with glyceroborate compounds allows increasing its dispersity, total surface, geometric and energy activity. Based on natural graphite GLS-3 and crypto-crystalline graphite activated by glyceroborates, the compositions of non-stick coatings were developed. They comprise additionally bentonite and water. The results of tests of properties of these non-stick coatings showed that the activation of the crypto-crystalline graphite with glyceroborates allows one to increase abrasion resistance, covering ability and coating strength, and to improve the surface quality of castings.
Keywords:Glyceroborates, graphite, activation, geometrical and energetic activity, non-stick coatings, abrasion resistance, covering ability, quality of casting surface.

Tkachenko S.S., Sokolov A.V., Druzhevsky M.A., Mikhailov O.V. Investigation of the processing characteristics of liquid glass cold hardening mixtures with liquid hardeners and the development of easily shacked-out mixtures. Part 2
The results of a study of the properties of liquid-glass cold-hardening systems with UKhP-KhA "S" liquid hardeners are presented. An influence of quartz sands from several deposits on the quality of liquid-glass cold hardening mixtures intended for molds and cores is considered. Cold hardening mixtures based on liquid glass with quartz sands 1К2О303 (Balasheyskoye deposit, Samara region) and 1К2О402 (Nebolchinskoye deposit, Nebolchi village, Novgorod region) were considered.
Keywords:Cold hardening mixtures, liquid glass, liquid hardeners, liquid glass mixtures (liquid glass mixtures, sand-salt mixtures, CO2-process), molding sands.
