Kazyulina D.I., Ivanova V.A. Investigation of the destruction of foundry coke under cupola charging conditions
The article discusses the mechanism for loading foundry coke into a cupola furnace. An analysis of existing methods for assessing the mechanical strength of foundry coke for compliance with the actual conditions of loading foundry coke into a cupola furnace was carried out. The purpose of the article is to study the mechanism of destruction of foundry coke when loading the metal part of the charge into a cupola furnace using a specially developed technique using testing equipment. For this purpose, a study was carried out to identify the influence of the properties of foundry coke on the nature of destruction at different heights of the fall of the load (400, 800 and 1200 mm) – simulating the loading of a cupola furnace with a metal charge. Analysis of the research results made it possible to identify the dependence of the degree of destruction on the height of the drop - destruction occurs when falling from any height, and the increase in the degree of destruction is proportional to the increase in the height of the drop. And also give some recommendations for adjusting the process of melting cast iron in a cupola furnace, including in the event of a change of supplier.

Trapeznikov N.V., Shumkov A.A., Rozhkov M.Y., Salimov V.A. Structural transformations during modification of aluminum AK5M alloy
In order to improve the mechanical properties and stability of the microstructure, three types of modifiers were introduced in the AK5M alloy. When comparing the microstructure obtained using a modifier based on sodium salts with a serial non-modified alloy, a change in the morphology of the ?-phase was noted, while an uneven distribution of eutectic over the volume of the casting and the presence of micro porosity was observed. When modifying the alloy with the AlSr10 ligature, a microstructure with a rounded shape of the ?-phase, modified globular eutectic was obtained. A decrease in microporosity by volume of the sample was revealed. When modifying the alloy with the AlTi5B1 ligature, the microstructure of the alloy is formed by an ?-phase with a rounded shape, the modified eutectic of a globular shape. The distribution of eutectic is not uniform with the presence of local zones with a large content of it.

Korostelev V.F. Casting process design with compensation programming shrinkage of crystallizing metal under pressure
The presented work deals with the design study of a casting process in which pressure is purposefully used to compensate for the decrease in the volume of liquid metal that occurs at a critical moment during the transition from the liquid to the crystalline state. It has been established by measurements that the relative decrease in the volume of metal (shrinkage) during the transition from the liquid to the crystalline state under pressure of up to 400 MPa or more can reach 12 %. This result has been tested many times on alloys Д1, Д16, AK5, В95. Metal cooling, phase transformations, structure formation, changes in linear dimensions and the formation of defects of gas-shrinkage origin are interrelated with the behavior of metal atoms when pressure is applied. The possibilities of more efficient use of pressure in technological processes of foundry production have been identified.

Leushin I.O., Titov A.V., Rakitin S.R. Assessment of the possibility of recycling an easily knocked out core mixture containing crushed silicone rubber waste
The results of studies of the main operational properties of the liquid-glass rod mixture, which uses a recycled mixture obtained by processing the waste mixture with the addition of crushed waste silicone rubber, are presented. The practical possibility of using the recycled mixture as part of a fresh core mixture with a reduced content of liquid glass is shown. The developed mixture can be used for the production of small and medium-sized liquid glass rods.

The design of a casting mold for manufacturing castings with high dimensional and geometric accuracy by investment casting is presented. The problem of reducing the consumption of expensive materials by means of separate manufacturing of parts of the mold is solved. The unbreakable model and casting mold for casting are made of high quality materials, and models and molds for the sprue system are made of non-deficient materials. Before calcination or before pouring with molten metal, the parts of the mold are assembled into a single unit by means of a cylindrical connector.

Shaikhutdinova I.I., Gaintseva E.S. Application of information technologies in foundry production
The possibility of using information technologies in the work preparation of a new production range of castings is considered. Functional models are presented that show the sequence and features of the work preparation to make castings and the choice of a proper casting technology. The technique of automatically-operated selection of the mold position during pouring is considered in order to ensure the direction of solidification of the casting (from the most massive parts to the thinnest) and to determine the location of the crops.
