Andreev V.V., Kovalevich E.V., Nuraliev F.A. Features of crystallization and morphology of graphite-austenitic eutectics in cast irons with vermicular graphite
The results of studies on the features of the processes of crystallization and formation of graphite-austenitic eutectics in cast irons with lamellar, vermicular and nodular graphite are presented. The spatial shapes of graphite inclusions and their internal structure were studied. Using new techniques, the values of interfacial tensions at the interface between the melt-basic planes of graphite crystals and the melt-prismatic ones were experimentally determined in cast iron, and the relationship between these parameters and the formation of crystallizing graphite inclusions was shown.
Keywords: High-strength cast iron, lamellar, vermicular, nodular graphite, structure, mechanical properties, modification, metallography, metallographic specimens, etching.

Boldyrev D.A. Complex refining and degassing treatment of cast iron melt with barium and strontium carbonatites
The mechanism of operation and features of the use of refining and degassing material L-cast®5.1 based on barium and strontium carbonatites are considered. The methodology and results of testing of this material in the conditions of the cast iron production of JSC «AVTOVAZ» during the smelting of molten cast iron in electric arc furnaces are presented. The economic assessment of the introduction of the L-cast?5.1 material into the existing production was carried out.
Keywords: Barium and strontium carbonates, desulfurization, nonmetallic inclusions, gas purging.

Minenko G.N. Electrographic method for predicting the strength of gray cast iron
The design of an experimental unit for determining the electrical resistivity values during the crystallization of gray cast iron is described. The dependence of the electrical conductivity of cast iron on the cooling time of gray cast iron samples is given. The change in the strength of gray cast iron is presented as a dependence on the relative electrical conductivity of the alloy. The practical application of the electrographic method is shown.
Keywords: Gray cast iron, crystallization process, electrical resistance, supercooled alloy, strength properties, relative electrical conductivity, electrographic method, mechanical properties of the alloy.

Rozhkov M.Yu., Shumkov A.A., Trapeznikov N.V., Elokhov R.T. Modification of heat-resistant nickel alloys with fine powders
The article describes a method for modifying heat-resistant nickel alloys of the LC type using a modifier, which uses a fine powder of titanium carbonitride Ti(C,N). The method of introducing a modifying additive into the melt during melting of the alloy is shown. The composition of the additive consisting of fine powders of aluminum, titanium and a modifying additive of titanium carbonitride is indicated. The ratio of components for the preparation of the composition of the modifier, and the manufacturing technology are indicated. When analyzing the results obtained, it was found that the modifier, which used fine titanium carbonitride powder in an amount of 0.5% of the charge weight, helps to reduce the size of the macro grain structure in the control section of the casting. It is worth noting that the modifying effect is also observed in the distribution of carbide phases throughout the casting volume in terms of the absence of closed contours along grain boundaries due to changes in their morphology. Primary carbides in the alloy have a globular shape with no signs of lamellar carbides.
Keywords: Nickel alloys, modification, structure, properties, investment casting.

Verin A.S. Inverse-phase precipitation in not alloyed Ni3Al obtained by dosed directional solidification method
Intermetallid Ni3Al obtained by conventional methods such equiaxal and conventional directional solidification (CDS) has a microstructure which consists from ?'' + ?sec (eutectic -matrix) and ?-phases. Contrary, this intermetallid obtained by dosed directional solidification method (DDS) has a microstructure which consists from ? (matrix) and eutectic. This inverse phase precipitation is connected with increasing of the yield strength at the room temperature about 2-2.5 times. The changing of the crystal structure of the matrix intermetallid in the case DDS method is result of the mixing in a solid-liquid area during directional solidification. We studied of the microstructures and strength of standard form of specimens of this intermetallic compound (Ni3Al) with a single or double-crystal structure obtained by the DDS method and compared with another methods.
Keywords: Intermetallid, lateral feed, structure, yield strength.

Yusipov R.F., Airapetyan A.S., Vinogradov V.Yu., Khatsiev Yu.Kh., Paremsky I.Ya. Multilayer shell molds for investment casting with organic binder material A casting mold and the technology of its manufacture in the method of investment casting are presented. The distinctive feature of the mold is the presence of intermediate and last layers of the mold made with the use of organic binder materials. The advantage of the design of the presented mold is the exclusion of its impregnation with modeling compound and water during the melting of the model. The use of organic binder materials significantly reduces the duration of cleaning operations of extended narrow cavities of castings.
Keywords: Investment casting, multilayer shell mold, organic binder, ethyl silicate binder.

Feoktistov N.A., Yumabaev A.A., Skripkin E.V., Monastyrsky A.V. Assessment of the stress state of a rolling roll using computerized modeling The article discusses the results of computer modeling of residual stresses of a rolling roll. When producing rolling rolls by centrifugal casting, even minor violations of technological production parameters can lead to the appearance of cracks in the casting body. These are mainly cracks and chips formed during heat treatment as a result of the combined action of residual stresses and deformations. To assess the factors influencing the level of residual stresses in the roll barrel, after crystallization, computer modeling was carried out using the PolygonSoft tool (SKM LP). The purpose of this work is to analyze the influence of various factors on the formation of a rolling roll in a casting mold, as well as to evaluate the possibility of controlling these factors to optimize casting technology and obtain higher-quality workpieces. In the process of modeling, the dynamics of temperature changes, the stress-strain state throughout the entire volume of the roll and the level of residual stresses in the working layer were determined.
Keywords: Bimetallic rolling roll, combined mold, working layer, core, computer modelling, finite element method, voltage, deformation.

Rovin S.L. A modern foundry is a prototype of energy – efficient, environmentally neutral production of the future The article discusses the tasks of the development of foundry production at the present stage, the issues of its energy efficien¬cy, material consumption and environmental friendliness. It is shown that advanced achievements in the field of foundry technol¬ogies, purification of dust and gas emissions, recycling of secondary energy resources (SER), recycling of metals, regeneration of materials, processing and use of man-made waste, allow us to talk about a modern foundry as a model of energy-efficient, envi¬ronmentally neutral production of the future.
Keywords: Foundry, energy efficiency, resource conservation, ecology, waste disposal, recycling.
