Boldyrev D.A., Galushkin I.G., Krasnopevtsev A.Yu. Correction of surface defects of cylinder block castings by welding
The technology of correcting casting defects in cast iron castings by filling them with metal of a melting electrode, as well as its features in relation to the casting of the "Cylinder block", including their preheating and final annealing, is considered. A technical solution has been shown and implemented with a positive result to eliminate non-penetrating defects of foundry origin such as surface shells in cylinder block castings by filling them with metal after melting a cast iron nickel-containing filler rod with an increased silicon content (carbon equivalent) with a gas burner.
Keywords: Surface casting defects, cast iron filler rod, welding, cast iron, casting, cylinder block.

A large amount of low-grade raw materials from non-ferrous alloys has been currently accumulated at the waste utilization and recycling enterprises. One of such material groups is zinc alloys. Their processing is associated with certain features that are described in this paper. A conditional classification by physical condition, surface quality and degree of contamination is presented in terms of scrap and waste of secondary low-grade zinc raw materials received for recycling.

Svinoroev Yu.A., Gutko Yu.I., Batyshev K.A. Dry mixes for production of small- and medium-sized castings under conditions of individual and small-lot production
A technical solution is proposed for providing enterprises of individual and small-lot production with domestic molding materials. In particular, with dry mixes for production of disposable molds and cores. Their distinctive feature is that the CMC-plated quartz sand is used as a filler and powdered LST – as a binder. All ingredients of the mixture are domestically manufactured products, they are abundant, not expensive, and are simple and safe to use. The distinctive features of the proposed solution are easy to apply, versatility in functionality, reliance on the domestic resource potential, which means available, inexpensive and environmentally friendly materials.

Kulikov V.Y., Kvon S.S., Issagulov A.Z., Kordasheva A.A. Improving casting quality using exogenous suspension casting
The influence of the fraction of inoculators used in polystyrene models when casting from gasified models was considered. Studies on mechanical properties have shown that fractions of 125…500 ?m are optimal for the studied sample sizes. When using such a fractional composition, strength and hardness increase by 6…9%, and wear resistance increases. In this case, a finely crystalline homogeneous structure is formed, there are no porosity and casting defects.

Akutin A.A., Serebryakov S.P. Influence of the value of metal-static pressure on the formation of shrinkage defects during the manufacture of castings nickel alloys
The results of studies carried out using experimental pouring and computer modeling on the influence of the hydraulic pressure of the melt on the formation of shrinkage cavities during casting solidification are presented. It is shown that numerical modeling methods do not allow predicting the formation of shrinkage defects.

Echin A.B., Kolyadov E.V., Sannikov A.V. Design features of starting zones of nozzle blades in single and block versions produced by directional solidification
The main element of the gating and feeding system at directional crystallization is the start block. The paper describes the design features of the formation of the starting zones and assembly of clusters of the nozzle blades in single and block versions, as well as changes in the curvature of the crystallization front, which have a critical effect on the formation of single crystal structure.

Some aspects of designing of shrinkheads and simulation of castings solidification in domestic and foreign software packages for mathematical simulation of foundry processes are considered. The analysis of calculation results is performed.
