Boldyrev D.A., Popova L.I. Influence of crystallization factors on the structure formation of graphitized cast irons
Based on the general provisions of the crystallization theory, the influence of various factors, including the cooling rate, on structure formation in general and, in particular, on the r a tio of perlite/ferrite in the metal base of graphitized cast iron is shown. The achievement of an identical ferrite content in the ductile iron cast structure during crystallization of the casting in sand form and at an intermediate cooling rate (between annealing and normalization) as a result of partial (incomplete) normalization has been experimentally shown and theoretically explained. The morphological difference of partially normalized ferrite, in contrast to cast ferrite in the form of a ferrite rim around graphite globules, consists in a more uniform distribution of its regions both in the metal base and fragments of the rim adjacent to graphite inclusions. The possibilities of modeling the structure of graphite-containing cast irons by heat treatment with varying the cooling rate to change the dispersion and the number of structural components over a wide range are disclosed.
Keywords: Graphitized cast iron, perlite, ferrite, partial (incomplete) normalization, cooling rate.

Minenko G.N. An effect of electric field on modification of 40L steel
An installation diagram of the experimental unit for measuring the electrical resistance of molten steel is presented. A dependence of the electrical resistance on the physical state of the melt is given. Experimental data on changes in the electrical resistance of the modified steel melt caused by the electric field treatment are presented. The maximum change in the strength properties of the steel treated by the electric field during the modification process is shown. The conditions for the occurrence of an electric field-assisted microstructural effect in a steel melt influenced by the electric field treatment are considered.
Keywords: Cast steel, modification, electric field, electrical resistivity, prediction, strength.

Babkin V.G., Trunova A.I. Integrated refining of primary aluminum from impurities
The paper presents the compositions of fluxes for refining primary aluminum from alkali, alkaline earth metals and electrolyte residues. The proposed technology makes it possible to achieve deep refining of primary aluminum from metallic impurities and non-metallic inclusions, and also ensures minimization of aluminum losses with slag when it is downloaded from the melt surface.
Keywords: Refining, primary aluminum, potassium cryolite.

Kidalov N.A., Belov A.A., Belova N.V., Polyak S.R., Dibrov A.I. Investigation of the influence of spent coffee grounds on the formation of sand-liquid-glass mixtures properties
The work is devoted to the study of the formation of physical and mechanical properties of sand-liquid glass mixtures depending on the content of spent coffee grounds in their composition. The study of the influence of the granulometric composition of the technological additive on the raw strength of the studied mixtures has been carried out. It is shown that grinding of spent coffee grounds to the fraction ~Investigation 0,414 of grain diameter of refractory filler of rounded shape leads to an increase in the strength of the mixture in the wet state by 34,37% with a slight decrease in its gas permeability. The compositions of sand-liquid-glass mixtures with a two-component additive are offered, the use of which provides a decrease in the residual strength after calcination of test samples at a temperature characteristic of sodium silicate melting from 75 to 90% without significant deterioration of the physical and mechanical properties of mixtures regulated by GOST.
Keywords: Sand-liquid-glass mixture, residual strength, spent coffee grounds, granulometric composition.

Leushin I.O., Titov A.V. Practical tests of an easily knocked out core mixture containing crushed silicone rubber waste
The results of industrial tests of liquid-glass rod mixtures containing crushed silicone rubber waste are presented. The practical possibility of using these mixtures for small and medium-sized steel and cast iron castings, as well as for the manufacture of castings from aluminum and copper alloys is shown.
Keywords: Production waste, liquid glass core mixtures, core knockout, softening additive s, reverse mixture.

Kulikov S.A., Rudnickij F.I., Shumigaj V.A. Combined use of kaolin and bentonite molding clays
The article compares the properties of kaolin and bentonite clays. It has been shown that kaolin clays have high fire resistance, and bentonites have high astringent properties. The experience of specialists from OJSC “MTW” in the joint use of various types of clays is considered. The combination of kaolin and bentonite in the suspension made it possible to increase the strength of the molding sand while maintaining moisture levels. The disadvantage of kaolin clay suspensions is that the moisture content increases with increasing dosage. When preparing bentonite suspensions, their short shelf life should be taken into account.
Keywords: Clay, kaolin, bentonite, suspension.

Vertsyukh S.S., Zakharov S.L. Ways to increased strength of casting technological equipment which produced by additive technologies
The article is devoted to the problem of increase technological strength of casting equipment for manual molding, that are produced by method of 3d-printing. The result can be used for the production preparation of casting in the industrial enterprises or commercial organizations that are commercializing in the manufacture of casting equipment.
Keywords: Additive technologies, 3D-printing, casting, technological equipment, casting mold.

Pilipenko A.A., Varfolomeyev M.S., Deinega G.I. Study of the effect of titanium oxide on the strength of aluminum oxide molds intended for casting of heat-resistant alloys
The effect of the addition of titanium (IV) oxide on the mechanical properties of ceramic molds based on electrocorundum used for casting superalloys is considered. Silica-free samples from corundum ceramics were made using various amounts of sintering additives. Data on the strength of the obtained ceramics are presented. The conclusion is made about the optimal amount of sintering additive.
Keywords: Investment casting, water-based binder, alumosol, electrocorundum, ceramic shell mold.
