Boldyrev D.A. Optimization of the chemical composition of CGI40 cast iron for camshaft casting
The analysis of the influence of key strengthening chemical elements (silicon, manganese, copper and tin) on the structure formation and properties of cast iron was carried out, on the basis of which the chemical composition of the CGI40 grade was optimized to minimize the cost of manufacturing the camshaft casting. A study of the microstructure and mechanical properties of cast iron before and after optimizing the chemical composition showed that the total content of silicon, manganese, copper and tin remained virtually unchanged. The optimization of the chemical composition consisted in increasing the copper content while reducing the content of silicon, manganese and tin. This has led to a significant reduction in the cost of production of castings. The main cost reduction factor was a decrease in the amount of tin, as it is more expensive and scarcer than copper. Thus, the replacement of part of the tin with copper made it possible to preserve the mechanical properties of cast iron while reducing production costs.

Skvortsov Ye.V., Isagulov A.Z., Sultangaziev R.B., Narembekova A.K. Influence of the nature of the modifier on the properties of 35KhGSL steel after annealing
In this paper, the influence of the nanomodification effect with the complex modifier INSTEEL and titanium carbide on the mechanical properties and microstructure of cast alloy steel 35KhGSL after heat treatment was investigated. It was found that the introduction of modifiers in the form of nanopowder with a fraction dimension of less than 100 nm in an amount of 0.1% of the metal weight contributed to an increase in the dispersion of pearlite and ferrite colonies. Structural changes in the metal led to an increase in hardness by an average of 24%; an increase in tensile strength by 5%; an increase in impact toughness by 8,5%.

The paper studies the tribological characteristics of aluminum-iron bronze BrAZh9-4 according to GOST 1628-2019 (BrA9Zh3L according to GOST 493-79), intended for the manufacture of friction parts of highly loaded pumps NSh39M. Comparative characteristics with the friction properties of tin bronze BrO10S10 are carried out.

The paper considers the issue of violation of the continuity of cast rolling rolls made of HiCr. The stress state of the rolling roll was assessed based on the emerging gradients of the casting temperature field, for which the software product “Gradient HiCr” was developed based on a numerical solution of the thermal conductivity problem. Methods have been identified to reduce temperature gradients. The influence of the thermophysical characteristics of materials on the reduction of temperature gradients during the manufacture of cast rolling rolls is analyzed. The resulting solutions were implemented into the production process and showed high efficiency.

The article touches upon the specifics of using alkaline resin binders that can be cured by purging with CO2 gases. This process has a relatively wide application for the manufacture of castings for various purposes, including artistic castings. It allows you to get a high surface quality and easier knocking out of the mixture. A plasticizing additive has been proposed to reduce the binder content and its effect on the durability and structure of the binder film has been evaluated. Studies have been conducted with two types of quartz molding sands with different clay content. The influence of the characteristics of sand and the amount of binder on the strength properties of the mixture is determined. Formulations of mixtures with a reduced binder content have been developed.
