Vachenko A.S., Jokhin A.V., Balashov R.B. Advanced method of mix material calculation
In the article advantages and lacks of existing methods of calculation mix material are considered. Also application of these methods to the solution of one example which has no exact soluti on is considered. However application of these methods has not brought satisfactory result. New method has been worked out, offered and successfully applied to the decision of a problem example.

Tyutyukov S.A., Andreev A.V. On economy of manganese and silicon in time of smelting foundry,s steels in a electric arc furnace
The economical and technological aspects for using of perspective materials (iron of direct reduction) are discussed in this article. The expenditure of iron- manganese (88%) alloy was 1,8 time less. The expenditure of iron - silicon (45%) alloy was 2,35 time less. The expenditure of electric energy was less on 5%. Mechanical properties of steels from experimental smeltings crresponded to requirements GOST 22703-2012.

Skoblo T.S., Pasko N.S., Avtukhov A.K. Slag Mixtures for Forming Roll Melts
The article examines slag mixtures (SM) for the production of forming rolls. Requirements to the selection of their composition are formalized, and recommendations on the basic components are given. The research was based on theoretical and experimental developments of process properties of slags. Use of recommended SM helps to reduce the sulfide content, refine the grains, and save the alloying elements (AE).

Semyonov V.I., Andreyev V.V. Factors of Origination and Formation of Graphite Inclusions in Cast Irons
Using the ideas of thermodynamics of non-equilibrium systems, a new scientific conception of graphitization is proposed. It is shown how the non-equilibrium chemical system Fe-C can generate and support the asymmetry of interactions of Fe and C atoms (ions), produce a weak flow of energy whose permanent action is sufficient for space-time structures (STS) to emerge in the melt, circumstances and conditions to form, under which graphite inclusions (GI) can originate and form.

Radchenko K.S., Yamshinskiy M.M., Fedorov G.E., Platonov E.A. Chromium-manganese cast iron service prorerties improvement by complex modifying
The effect of complex modification of chromium-manganese cast iron by titanium and rare-earth metals (REM) additives on the structure, wear resistance, aggregate hardness and microhardness of austenite has been investigated. It was found, that complex modification reduces the width and length of austenite dendrites, grains the eutectic, increases the microhardness of austenite and abrasive wear resistance of the basic cast iron. Optimum quantities of titanium and REM additives in wear-resistant chromiummanganese cast iron, aimed for production of the parts working in conditions of hydroabrasive wearing, were defined.

A.V. Frolov, I.Yu. Muhina, V.A. Duyunova, Z.P. Uridiya Influence of technological parameters of melting on the structure and properties of new magnesium alloys
Promising new magnesium alloys VML18 and VML20 were developed in VIAM. The effect of certain parameters of melting on their properties and structure was researched. The distribution of zirconium intermetallidesin the alloy VML20 was shown and the role of high-dispersed particles of a phase Zn2Zr in nanostructured mechanism of hardening of this alloy was determined.

The article deals with the history of the Department of materials science and technology of new materials, Siberian state industrial University, directions and purposes of its scientific and educational activity. Presented to the scientific and practical achievements of the Department staff in the areas of metallurgy, materials science, foundry, metal forming, welding and heat treatment, as well as the processing of waste of metallurgical and mining processes. All developed new materials and technologies qualitatively superior to those which apply in the present time in the world practice and based on the representation about the leading role of hydrogen in the formation of the properties of materials.

Andreyev A.A., Sokolov Y.A., Strakhov Y.N., Shepyryov N.N. SELS-1 an Electron-Beam Unit of the New Generation for Layerwise Synthesis of Products
The article discusses issues of designing equipment for implementing the technology of layerwise synthesis of materials by means of an electron beam. The process takes place in a vacuum chamber, which makes it possible to synthesize products from granules of chemically active metals, such as titanium. Composition and purpose of the basic elements of the SELS-1 unit are described.

Are advantages and disadvantages carbonitriding tool steel. Given the methodology and results of steel carbonitriding a paste carburizer nontoxic. Shows the microstructure analysis of the diffusion layer at saturation with nitrogen and carbon steel.
