Demidovich V.B., Khatsayuk M.Y., Timofeev V.N., Maksimov A.A. Numerical simulation of titanium alloy non-crucible melting in the alternating electromagnetic field
By the integration of ANSYS and Fluent the numerical model of the cylindrical halffinished product melting process in the alternating magnetic field was developed. The calculation of the melting process was implemented by enthalpy – porosity methodology with the use of turbulent flows k-? SST in the unsteady state. Electromagnetic sources of movement and heat were defined by the method of solution of finite element harmonic problems on magnetic vector potential in the inductor – ingot system at each iteration of hydrodynamic problem. Basing on the developed model the calculation and analysis of physical processes during titanium alloy (6Al-4V) non-crucible melting was made.
Key words: Titanium alloys, magnetohydrodynamics, crucibleless melting, metallurgy, induction heating.

Poluboyarov V.A., Korotaeva Z.A., Zhdanok A.A., Gorbunov F.K. Modification of grey cast
Experiments involving modification of cast iron manufactured in China which is similar to Russian grades (SCh-18...SCh-30) using the compositions based on a mixture of tungsten and titanium carbides were carried out. Nanodispersed carbide powders were obtained by means of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) in combination with preliminary mechanical activation (MA). The use of modifying agents for intra-mold modification may lead to an increase in the tensile strength up to 18.5%, relative corrosion stability in hydrochloric acid up to 58.8%. After modification in ladle, the strength of the samples increased to 25...29% only after storage for 3.5 months.

Nazaratin V.V., Degtyaryov A.F., Kharina I.L., Nuraliyev N.F. Development of new highnitrogen corrosion-resistant steel for the production of ship’s, petrochemical and other fittings
There has been developed a new high-nitrogen corrosion-resistant, nonmagnetic cast steel of the type 05Õ22ÀÃ15Í8Ì2ÔË for the production of critical castings for ship’s, petrochemical, gas and other equipment. The crystallization kinetics of the steel in the “liquidus-solidus” range have been investigated, its casting process properties have been studied. It has been shown that the developed high-nitrogen cast steel with 0.5% N is a high-workability material, by its castability and other properties being not inferior to the best foundry analogs, and can be widely used for the production of highquality steel castings of any complexity for ship’s, petrochemical, gas and other equipment.
