Levshin G.E. The parameters of the electromagnetic induction furnare with U-shaped magnetic cores
The results of the experimental determination of the electrical and thermal parameters. Other laboratory electromagnetic induction melting crucible furnace with a curved Ushaped core and a frequency of 50 Hz. The furnace produces a horizontal magnetic flux between the two poles of the magnetic circuit, acting on the crucible with the charge. The possibility of rapid melting silumin and brass in a laboratory oven and the need for cooling the electric coil. These results will help to create a method of designing and calculating the basic electrical, magnetic and thermal properties of electromagnetic furnaces of various sizes.

Boldyrev D.A., Popova L.I., Davydov S.V. Analysis of phase composition of graphitizing ferrosilicabarium inoculants’ structure
There was conducted an analysis of the quality of ferrosilicabarium graphitizing inoculants produced by different processes, using electron microscope examination based on X-ray spectral microanalysis. Shown are the possibilities of qualitative identification of phase composition and of surface macroanalysis of inoculant particles, and their relationship with quality the main criterion of which is the effectiveness of work (graphitizing ability) determined by the magnitude of chill of wedge specimen.
Key words: Electron microscope analysis, X-ray spectrum microanalysis, inoculant, phase composition.
Leushin I.O., Leushina L.I., Plokhov S.V. Development of a process flow for recycling mineral sludge for finishing cast iron and steel
The paper proposes a process flow for recycling calcium-bearing sludge waste for liquid-phase treatment of steel and cast iron melts, specifically for desulphurization and dephosphorization of iron-carbon alloys. The paper lays out basic chemical reactions for the said processes and the assessment of the application potential of mineral sludge from the GAZ Group facilities to be used for finishing in the production of cast iron and steel casts.

Marukovich E.I., Stetsenko V.Y. Melting and casting of silumins – nanostructural processes
The existing theories of liquid state, crystallization and modifying of fusions don't allow to investigate difficult physical and chemical processes of melting and casting of silumins. To investigate these processes, it is necessary to consider fusion consisting of thermodynamic stable nanocrystals of phases and unstructured atomized zones. As a result of the conducted researches it is established that melting and casting of silumins are nanostructural processes. In these processes the major role is played by the centers of crystallization of phases, nanocrystals of aluminum and silicon, the dissolved and adsorbed hydrogen and oxygen.
Key words: Melting, casting, silumins, modifying, nanocrystals, centers of crystallization, nanostructural processes.
Afanasiev V.K., Dolgova S.V., Popova M.V., Magazov V.S., Chernysh A.P. On the new understanding of pure iron microstructure
It is proposed to assume that hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen are part of a single community HCNO – body, which forms a dark structural components in pure iron. The study of preparation of thin sections with different etching time in the conventional alcohol solution HCNO at low exposure time to 6 minutes provides a sharp high travelmasti sections. At high exposures the mass of the dark is replaced by light of education. The results show that we should spend a complex of works on heat and chemical-heat treatment of pure iron with the aim of obtaining iron with the maximum amount of dark or light that will allow you to adjust the properties of iron and alloys Fe–C in wide limits.

Prusov E.S., Kechin V.A. Synthesis of copmposite alloys for tribotechnical
Discussed are the capabilities of metal-ceramic alloys (MCA) and methods of synthesizing them. Requirements to tribotechnical application materials are substantiated. It is shown that such MCAs can be 35..40% harder and 10-12 times more wear-resistant than a metal alloy.
Key words: Metal-ceramic alloy, reinforcement, metal matrix, tribotechnical characteristics.
Uskov I.V., Belyayev S.V., Sidelnikov S.B., Uskov D.I. Development of solders for jewelry alloys
Discussed are methods of analyzing threecomponent and more complicated schemes to create a palladium-based solder. Alloys with Pd-Ag with additional Si alloying were investigated to show that Si eutectics can ensure reliable connection when soldering.
