Koltygin A.V. Enhancement of Mg Alloys’ Oxidation Resistance with Small Calcium Additions
Discussed are measures aimed at protecting Mg alloys against oxidation. It is proposed to add Ca in optimum amount to refine the structure of Mg alloys and enhance their oxidation and ignition resistance.

Uridiya Z.P., Mukhina I.Y. Sealing of Magnesium and Aluminum Alloy Castings
Effectiveness of impregnation compounds for sealing Mg and Al alloy castings was investigated. Effect of sealing process parameters and methods of removing the impregnation compound material providing adhesion of paint-and-lacquer coatings to casting surfaces, and corrosion resistance of the alloys were studied. Parameters of sealing Al and Mg alloy castings by the methods of capillary suction and vacuum-pressure have been developed and optimized. Results of testing specimens in different media and investigating the effect of limit operating temperatureson the pressure-tightness of impregnated specimens are given.

Alyabyev I.P. Optimizing Design of Aluminum Alloy Cast Parts
The modern digital technologies of creating sand cores and molds without creating tooling, in combination with new quality control methods open unlimited possibilities for designers in improving aircraft technology, and its performance. Adoption of new technologies is hampered by the lack of cooperation, new equipment at aircraft plants, specialists, and serial aircraft production. Examples of improving the design of assemblies of the Tu-204CM aircraft with the purpose of reducing their mass are discussed.

Golovachenko V.P., Duka V.M. New Technologies in Aluminum Alloy Die Casting
Ukrainian specialists proposed an innovation for the die casting technology. The first one is directed to the formation of a defect-free surface layer of casting by using microchills. The second one - a variety of rheocasting, allows to obtain high mechanical properties in castings ?3= 280…300 MPa, ? = 3.7 … 4%.
