Kolokoltsev V.M., Goltsov A.S., Stoliarov A.M. Choice and Rationale of New Heat-Wear-Resistance Iron
Analysis of steels with chromium content 17…24% and complex-alloyed white irons with chromium content 18…28%, which simultaneously have high heat-resistance, abrasive and impact-abrasive wear resistance, corrosion resistance was carried out with the purpose of sound choice of alloy working in conditions of wear and high temperatures. Properties of researched alloys in cast condition and after high-temperature oxidation t = 800 and 1000°C are got and elaborated. Rational quantities of complex-alloyed white iron's alloying elements for receipt of castings with high heat-wear-resistance properties, which operate in conditions of abrasive and impact-abrasive wear resistance and high-temperature oxidation t = 800…1000°C, are identified. Kondratyuk S.Ye., Stoianova E.N., Shcheglov V.M., Prymak I.N., Parchomchuk Z.V. Hereditary Modification of Cast Steels
By introduction of additives with fine crystalline structure and same chemical composition into the melt the possibility of modification of 45Л and Р6М5Л cast steel structure is shown. The additives are formed with the rapid cooling crystallization. Such additives maintain their inherited properties in the melt, initiating formation of large quantity of nucleation centers for crystallization and providing uniform fine grained structure over cross-section of the castings. On the basis of investigations conducted, the existing notion of the contamination defect has been widened. Classification and diagnostics of causes of formation of such defects, and their identification have been proposed. Benz N., Forberg K. Ecofriendly Cold-Hardening Furane Resins with a Content of Free Furfuryl Alcohol under 25%
By publishing a series of articles on binders and auxiliary materials for the foundry industry the company "Uralkhimplast-H?ttenes-Albertus" will tell about modern materials to be used in all known core and mold making processes, about the improvement of their technical and practical properties, about the development of not only the existing materials, but also absolutely new directions. Bezpalko V.I. Casting with Crystallization under Pressure of Thin-Walled Silumin Parts
Discussed are the basics of developing a technology of making thin-walled silumin castings with crystallization under pressure (CCP). Photos of castings made by that method are shown. A technical characteristic of a robotized manufacturing complex (RMC) developed for CCP is given. Kulakov B.A., Dubrovin V.K., Karpinskiy A.V., Chesnokov A.A. Gating Induction System Installation of Centrifugal Ceramic Crucible
The paper deals with the processes of pouring a melt from a ceramic crucible to the mould cavity in induction centrifugal melting and pouring machines. Effect of the frequency of crucible and mould rotation, as well as of the position of working cavities on the character of melt flow, filling speed and time of mould filling is also considered. A technique for calculation of the sections of gating system elements is presented. Tikhomirov M.D. New and Traditional Methods of Computing Tasks of the Theory of Casting Processes by the Example of the Casting Process Computer Simulation System "PolygonSoft"
Discussed are advantages and disadvantages of using the SPH and FEM when simulating casting processes in the "PolygonSoft" system. It is concluded that the development of the casting process computer simulation system should be in the field of rational combination of traditional design methods (such as FEM), considering the possibility of speeding up the designs by means of video cards and new methods (such as SPH), allowing to use fundamentally new "networkless algorithms".
