Gabets A.V., Sukhov A.V., Filippov G.A. Special Inoculated Alloyed Iron for Friction Wedge of Bogies
There was conducted a comprehensive study of the effect of alloying and inoculation on the mechanical properties, wear resistance and structural state of SCh35 iron used as a material for the friction wedge of vibration dampeners in wagons. It was shown that iron inoculation with Ni and Mo, in combination with inoculating additives, improves its hardness, strength and wear resistance, which allows to reduce materials consumption of the friction wedge.

Rogotovsky A.N., Shipelnikov A.A. Modern theory and hypothesis formation of globular graphite in cast structure Alloyse
The paper considers different theories and hypothesis formation of globular graphite in the structure of the structural alloyse in the period of primary crystallization. Presents the results of the research of the authors, on the basis of their basic provisions of the cluster hypothesis of the formation of graphite.

Kuksa A.V. Porous castings with using as a pore-forming material polystyrene granules
The article shows technological schema of sheathing polystyrene granules by liquid glass shell and dusting by dispersed powders: aluminum, alumina or cristobalite and other; shows constructionally-technological schemata of designed and tested technical solutions (metal moulds) for producing porous castings by vacuum impregnation with using as a pore-forming material polystyrene granules which plated by reinforce shell and blank spherical shells. For the first time was obtained samples of porous castings of silumina, zinc and lead, shown their photographs. Visualization of thermal impact on polystyrene granules with reinforcing shell is shown that they became the hollow shells, while retaining the spherical shape and hardening.

Solovko I.T., Shinsky I.O., Berdyyev K. Prefoaming Original Polystyrene in UV Radiation
Proposed is a new cost-effective method of prefoaming polystyrene (PS) granules in UV radiation to make expanded patterns in the foundry. Regimes of prefoaming original PS in UV radiation have been determined experimentally. Based on the results obtained, an experimental unit for foaming PS by the new cost-effective method has been designed.

The basic technological molding factor in expanded pattern casting has been determined. Production of quality castings by expanded pattern method, like all metal casting technologies, depends on many technological factors. Since in expanded pattern casting crucial is the pattern quality factor, and the pattern cost, especially in individual casting production, may substantially influence the casting production costs, the molding and pouring operations must be carried out carefully in order not to damage the polystyrene pattern.

Gruzman V.M., Pirozhkov A.Y. Thermal Conditions of Blowing Molding Sand with Hot Air
Possibilities of increasing the hardening rate of vegetable oil based molding sands when blown with hot air are investigated. An analytical expression for determining the heat exchange coefficient has been obtained. Possibility of accelerating the heating process by combining the sand grain size distribution is shown.

The article was optimized formulations cold-mixes with the liquid glass with fyrfyriloksipropilcyclic carbonate (FOPT), which includes the study of such properties as strength, durability, shaking-out and crumbleness.

Developed additive mixture into the core to prevent defects, such the production of complex iron castings using produced by cold-box process or pep-set-process. Comparative trials of the developed additives Weinseal 1-35, firms Huttenes-Albertus. By results of tests the conclusion that antipunching new material effect identical to that of imported additives Weinseal 1-35.

Melnikov I. Experience of the most mass production of cast vehicle components ventilated brake discs
The current trend of Russian automotive industry development is building of vehicle assembly plants. This enacts obligatory localization of vehicle components production, that in turn demands creation of new modern and competitive productions to implement strict requirements of global auto groups. One of the priorities is creation of new foundries for production of extremely demanded cast brake discs that with modern moulding and core-shooting equipment.

The article discusses an automatic VAK type system that provides new technological possibilities for melting chemically active metals in a sectional copper crucible. The system is designed for casting products from intermetallides and refractory alloys by induction melting. Crystallization of molten metal is carried out in accordance with one of three technological schemes.
