Tkachenko S.S., Korobeynikov V.V. Import replacement for large steel railroad castings at the Tikhvin wagon building plant
The article describes the experience of a large-scale modernization of TVSZ foundry Tikhvin) based on Vacuum technology as a new step in development of foundry production in Russia with subsequent move to castings export to North America. Change-over to full import substitution of railroad castings in the Russian Federation and CIS. TVSZ plant as an example of high-performance top quality casting production at minimal production cost.

Boldyrev D.A., Popova L.I., Safronov N.N., Davydov S.V. Influence of eutecticity on the peculiarities of graphite formation in iron castings
Discussed are the peculiarities of graphite inclusion structures in lower gray iron grades (10. 15) depending on their eutecticity. There was established a difference in the structural peculiarities of graphite inclusions of hypereutectic and eutectic gray irons, consisting in that hypereutectic gray irons have a wide range of graphite inclusion distribution from PGr1 to PGr7. Graphite rosettes are large and consist of platelets of about equal size. The graphite inclusions in eutectic gray irons have a distribution PGr7. Graphite rosettes are large platelets at the periphery, and small, swirled graphite in the central part. The interrosette space is filled with colonies of small platelets of eutectic and secondary graphite.

Pulyayev A.A., Akimov O.V., Taran B.P. Aluminum-alloyed vermicular graphite iron an alternative material for pistons of high-power internal combustion diesel engines
A comparative analysis of properties of aluminum-alloyed vermicular-graphite iron was conducted. Influence of the method of aluminum introduction into iron melt is shown. Introduction of aluminum in the liquid state, as the best variant, ensures obtaining of a fine-grain structure and high mechanical properties with a minimal amount of nonmetallic inclusions. It is recommended to use aluminum-alloyed vermiculargraphite iron for pistons of high-power internal combustion engines.

Molchanova N.F., Saubanov M.N., Iksanov M.V., Leonov V.P. Properties of cast Ti-alloys after high-temperature gas-static treatment
Influence of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on the mechanical properties, some office characteristics and a microstructure of cast titanium alloys of system TiAlV and TiAlVMoC is investigated. Curves of weariness for alloys are constructed at temperatures of tests 20 and 200C.

Krivopalov D.S., Nikitin V.I., Chernikov D.G., Sharko A.A. Effect of inoculation on the properties of Al-Mg alloys
The modifying effect of master-alloys AlZr4, AlZr10 and AlSc2, and magnetic-pulse treatment on the density and electrical conductivity of alloys AMg5 and AMg6 was investigated. Found that the most significant increase in the density in liquid and solid States provides microcrystalline master-alloy AlSc2.

Doroshenko V.S. Lost foam casting process with crystallization of metal under pressure
The review describes methods of casting on gasified patterns using a controlled pressure on the metal surface, or casting in a mold. The use of isostatic pressure (full action) on the casting during solidification allows high-quality aluminum alloy castings for vehicles.

Malyarov A.I., Solokhnenko V.V. Interaction of flaskless mold from friable water glass bonded sand with the pattern compound during melting-out of the pattern
Presented are the results of an experimental and computer-aided study of force interaction between pattern compound and flaskless molds from friable water glass bonded sand during melting-out of the pattern compound.

Morozov V.A. Some issues of expanded pattern casting of steel
Discussed are the basic principles of the vacuum-based technology of expanded pattern casting of steel: design of gas-escape channels, carburizing of steel castings, foam pattern layout.
