Alexandrov N.N., Bekh N.I., Nuraliyev F.A., Rаdchenko M.V., Efremov I.V. Nodular iron – a unique structural material of the future
A brief background of the development of the production technology of highstrength iron is described in the paper. Examples of the most effective use of this unique structural material are given.
Key words: Nodular iron, nodularizing, magnesium, containers, pressure water pipes, driven piles.

Naydek V.L., Neizhko I.G., Gavrilyuk V.P. Nodular graphite in irons
The basic positions of the theory for graphite inclusions formation during the cast irons crystallization are shown. The graphite formation is determined by two mutually dependent factors such as phase-boundary energy and surface-active elements action. The spheroidal graphite is crystallised as a result of cast iron refining from surface-active elements ant their neutralization (sulfur, oxygaen andso on). Now this theory is adjudged by the most of experts in graphitized cast irons.
Key words: Cast iron, high-strength cast iron, graphite, spheroidal graphite, graphitization, crystallyzation, surface tension, phase-boundary energy, wettability.

Panfilov E.V., Gurtovoy D.A., Zakirov E.S. Bainitic iron as an alternative to high-strength iron
The article discusses the experience in production of automotive-purposed castings from VCh80 high-strength iron at the foundry of KAMAZ PTC. The main parameters of the production process, as well as the results of mechanical tests are given. The isothermal quenching causing formation of the bainitic structure is described as an alternative method for production of nodular and/or vermicular graphite iron of high grades.
Key words: Nodular iron, vermicular graphite iron, VCh80, bainite, isothermal quenching.

Bublikov V.B., Yasinsky A.A., Berchuk D.N., Zelyonaya L.A. On an influence of Ni on the structure and properties of nodular iron obtained by modifying in the mold
Experimental data about influence of 1,5% Ni alloying on structure formation and mechanical properties of castings from in-mould modified ductile cast iron are obtained. It is shown that the perlitizing effect of nickel in ductile cast iron received with in-mould modifying is lesser than at ladle modifying and decreases with decreasing of cooling speed. Optimal conditions of nickel alloying application for improving mechanical properties of thin-walled castings made of in-mould modified ductile cast iron are determined.
Key words: Ductile cast iron, in-mould modifying, nickel, cooling speed, structure, mechanical properties, thermal treatment.

Marukovich E.I., Ilyushenko V.M., Duvalov P.Yu., Andrienko V.M., Baranovskiy K.E. Influence of niobium on structure and mechanical properties of hypereutectic wear-resistant chromium iron
The results of the influence of niobium alloying of wear-resistant chromium cast iron IHC18VM of hypereutectic composition on its mechanical properties are described. Samples were made from hypereutectic wear-resistant chromium cast iron doped with niobium. The microstructure of the obtained samples is presented, its analysis is carried out. The phase composition of the samples and the content of residual austenite are determined. Studies of wear resistance and bending strength of samples from hypereutectic chromium cast iron have been carried out. It has been established that doping of wear-resistant chromium cast iron of hypereutectic composition (carbon content 4.45%) with niobium in the range of 1…1,5% is the most promising, both from a practical and economic perspective. The carried out researches made it possible to demonstrate the prospects of using hypereutectic chromium cast iron doped with niobium for the production of wear parts for various purposes.
Key words: Hypereutic chromium cast iron, alloying with niobium, wear resistance, bending strength, phase composition, residual austenite.

Vasilyeva A.V., Getman A.A. An influence of the thickness of conjugated walls of cast parts on their mechanical properties
An effect of the thickness of the walls of cast parts on their mechanical properties is discussed in the article.
Key words: Structure, wall thickness, mechanical properties.

Zarubin A.M., Zarubina O.A. Investigation of the working process of the pressing mechanism of an injectionmolding machine
This paper describes the design and implementation of physical, mathematical models and software tools that allow to simulate the working process of the pressing mechanism with a differential supply of the working fluid at different design and technological parameters of the mechanism and the die cast die. The model takes into account the design characteristics of machines for die casting, developed by the Tiraspol factory casting machines. The results were used by the plant at the stage of creation of working documentation and when finalizing the pressing mechanism.
Key words: Die casting machine, pressing mechanism with differential supply of working fluid, physical model of the mechanism, mathematical model, reduced stiffness, reduced forces, kinetics of pressure change in the piston cavity of the pressing cylinder.
