Sliusarev Y.K., Sliusarev I.Y. About the influence of the chemical composition on the cast structure and properties of high-strength cast iron HF 35
The analysis of the cast structure, physical and mechanical characteristics of highstrength ferritic cast iron from concentration positions has been carried out. Morphological, dimensional and quantitative characteristics of the main structural elements of the high carbon and ferritic phases are described analytically based on the mass fractions of the main components of the chemical composition, and the relationships within the structure, between the parameters of the structural elements and physical, mechanical characteristics are revealed. The calculated representation of the structure of cast iron was carried out using a complex author's technique.
Key words: Ferritic cast iron, graphite, ferritic phase, structural elements, physical, mechanical characteristics, non-destructive testing.

Finkelstein A.B., Chikova O.A., Shefer A.A., Makhmudzoda M. Oxydal – a new aluminium composite
Al-Al2O3 cast composite material called “Oxydal” was obtained by the oxygen blowing of AlSi9 melt saturated with hydrogen. The work was aimed to the studies of its structure, properties and formation mechanisms.
Key words: Aluminum alloy, titanium hydride, composite material, oxide film.

Doroshenko V.V., Belov N.A., Naumova E.A. Evaluation of the manufacturability during casting of new alloys based on aluminum-calcium eutectic
It was proposed to substitute the casting silumin with Al-Ca alloy additionally alloyed with Mg, Zn, Cu, Ni, Fe, Mn, Zr and, especially, Sc. The combined doping with Ca and Sc to obtain the necessary casting properties of the Al-Ca alloy is considered.

Kazakov A.A., Kur A.A., Kazakova E.I., Kiselev D.V. Quantitative evaluation of the hypoeutectic silumin microstructures
Quantitative methods for microstructure estimation have been developed. The quantitative “structure-property” relationships for hypoeutectic Al-Si and Al-Si-Cu alloys were found. American Foundry Society’s “Chart for Microstructure Control in Hypoeutectic Aluminum Silicon Alloys” was quantified. Technical requirements for Al-6Si-2Cu alloy microstructure which guarantee mechanical properties required by GOST were established.
Key words: Hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys, “structure-property” relationships, microstructure estimation, eutectic fineness, bar chart quantification, quantitative description.

Illarionov I.E.,Sadetdinov Sh.V., Zhirkov E.N. Influence of sodium borates on the strength of the molding mixture and the quality of castings of magnesium alloys
Studies of tensile strength of samples from alpha-set mixtures have shown that the addition of 0,5% and 1,0% sodium pentaborate can increase the strength of the sample from 0,10 to 0,22 MPa in 1 hour and from 0,48 to 0,67 MPa 24 hours after manufacture. Analysis of the surface of the samples shows that the addition of sodium borates in the alpha-set of mixtures improves the quality of the surface purity of magnesium alloy castings and the number of defective castings is reduced by 2–3 times.
Key words: Alloy ML19, alpha-set mixture, sodium metabolate, sodium tetraborate, sodium pentaborate, tensile strength, surface defects.
