Alov V.A., Eparkhin O.M., Popkov A.N., Karpenko M.I., Karpenko V.M. Complex-alloyed iron for wear-resistant castings with carbonitride strengthening
The ways of improving quality of complex-alloyed cast irons using carbonitride hardening, are discussed in the article.
Key words: Complex-alloyed cast irons, modification, carbonitride consolidations, structure dispersion, operating ability.

Abramov A.A. Features of the formation of hydrogen porosity in aluminum alloys
The analysis and quantitative assessment of conditions of the formation of hydrogen porosity in Al-alloys was carried out taking into account the thermodynamics of the interaction of aluminum with water vapor, the solubility of hydrogen in liquid and solid aluminum, as well as wettability of solid aluminum oxide by liquid aluminum. This article can be considered as a supplement to the article "Conditions for the formation of hydrogen porosity in aluminum castings" published in "Foundry", 1993, ?9, pp. 16–18.
Key words: Aluminum, hydrogen, aluminum oxide, hydrogen bubble, nucleation, melt.

Kotlyarskiy F.M. Hydrogen as an integral part of the structure of the liquid state of aluminum alloys
A model for hydrogen distribution in liquid aluminum alloys has been developed on the base of the analysis of the experimentally established phenomena related to the behavior of hydrogen in melts and castings. The model takes into account the presence of two forms of hydrogen: easily movable hydrogen in the disordered zone and less movable hydrogen in the solid-gas-cluster complexes.
Key words: Aluminum alloys, liquid state structure, hydrogen distribution model, disordered zone, solid-gas-cluster complexes.

Doroshenko V.S. The concept of a casting rotor-conveyor complex with the possibility of controlled cooling of castings, including their heat treatment
Rotor conveyor complexes (RСС) provide a combination of transport and technological operations of metal casting processes. Such conveyor sand casting technologies allow to obtain high quality billets and help automate the casting process. The inclusion in the RCC of the heat treatment furnace allows the heat treatment of the casting to obtain bainitic structures with high performance characteristics. The described RCC will ensure an increase in the productivity of production, a reduction in its energy and labor intensity, production space, and corresponds to modern high-tech equipment, the concept of which is largely based on scientific and technological developments and patents of the PTIMA NAS of Ukraine.
Key words: Rotor-conveyor complex, Lost Foam Casting, metal casting, modular construction, highstrength cast iron, heat treatment, bainite structure, isothermal hardening, austempering.

Semenov A.B. On the peculiarities of the production of precision billets and machine parts from structured multi-phase aluminum alloys
Precision shaping of products from metal-polymer granulated powder mixtures and from cast alloys (which are converted, before injection into the mould, in the casting slips with high fraction of solids and are injection molded in a special thixotropic solid-liquid state in the precise metal tools installed on the modern equipment) becomes almost a routine practice of the large-scale production at leading suppliers of billets abroad and the manufactured products are expensive imported goods for the domestic machine-building enterprises. The critical backwardness of the domestic foundry industry, which is particularly evident in the new sector called “thixotropic material metallurgy”, and is especially vivid on the Al-production market, cannot be overcome without improving the skills of mechanical engineers.
Key words: Technologies of thixotropic materials, science-intensive products, rheological properties of materials, standards of modern casting methods, organization of production.

Barinov A.Yu., Dyachkov V.N., Nikitin K.V., Tukabayov B.N. The usage of additive technologies and reverse engineering for the manufacture of cast parts in the restoration of automotive vehicles
The technology of obtaining the body of the steering reducer by casting on the burnedout models with the use of reverse engineering and additive technologies for the restoration of the vintage car Bantam BRC-40 1940 year of manufacture are presented.
Key words: Casting on the burned-out models, reverse engineering, additive technologies.

Akutin A.A. An effect of metallostatic pressure on formation of shrinkage defects in castings
A method to overcome shrinkage defects at production of heat-resistant Ni- and Al-alloys using an increased metallostatic head during casting is considered.
Key words: Shrinkage defects, investment casting, vacuum casting, metalostatic head, computer simulation.
