Rudnitskii F.I., Kulikov S.A., Shumigai V.A. Quality improvement of motor group castings by modification of gray iron by ultra-dispersed
The article discusses examples of the use of ultrafine particles to modify melts and improve the quality of motor group castings produced at Minsk Tractor Works. During the experiments, the reasons for increasing the mechanical properties were established, and methods for introducing particles into metal melts were also indicated.

Fesenko A.N., Fesenko M.A., Korsun V.A. About an effect of modifying additives on the structure of iron in castings
An effect of the in-mold modification of iron in sand mold on the structure and hardness of wedge-shaped samples was investigated. Graphitizers, nodularisers, and carbide stabilizing modifiers were used in the experiments. The features of the effect of modifiers of each group on the melt are noted.

Eldarkhanov A.S., Nuradinov A.S., Nakhaev M.R. Control of the forming processes of the cast billets structure of Al-alloy
In laboratory conditions the complex influence of various external factors (cooling intensity and vibration) on the formation of the model alloy structure and aluminum alloy structure was studied. It has been established that the negative effect of large overheating on the dispersity of the dendritic structure can be practically leveled out by adjusting the intensity of the heat sink. In addition, regardless of the level of overheating of the melt and the intensity of the heat sink, it was proved the high efficiency of vibration treatment of hardening alloys to form a favorable structure of cast billets.

The review provides information on the compositions, properties and use of cast aluminum alloys and the main methods for improving their properties (modification, refining, degassing). Measures to improve the quality of castings during sand casting, lost foam casting and pressure die casting are considered.

Uridiya Z.P., Duyunova V.A., Leonov A.A., Trofimov N.V. The influence of microregion on the mechanical properties of casting magnesium alloys
The given article presents the research results of strength characteristics of casting magnesium alloys WML18 and WML20 in the area of the location of the defect detected by x-ray control of its intensity. There is the microstructure of alloys given, which corresponds the different defect`s intensity for castings with wall thickness from 4 to 30 mm. The area of micropores is by metallographic method relative to the area of the microplate determined. According to the results of the research were produced standard radiographs of the density of castings from magnesium alloys WML 18 and WML20, which establish the relationship between the intensity of the microreplay`s image by x-ray transmission of castings magnesium alloys WML18 and WML20 and mechanical properties, which can be used as standards in assessing the quality of castings. There is the dependence between the intensity of the micro-powder on the image on the radiographic film at x-ray control of castings from magnesium alloys WML18, WML20, and mechanical properties established. There is compiled an album that can be used in assessing the quality of castings.

Shatrava A.P., Likhoshva V.P. New methods for production of cast billets from bimetallic materials
The main methods for manufacture of bimetallic articles are listed. A scheme to produce bimetallic structures under the action of laser radiation is presented; that is a hybrid method of casting and laser processing, which allows one to combine the advantages of laser and foundry technologies.

Dan L.A., Trofimova L.A., Podorozhny A.G. The use of granular polystyrene waste in a sandclay mixture
The results of a study of the properties of molding mixtures and core sand-clay mixtures in case of addition of the bead-type (granular) polystyrene wastes are presented. An optimal content (3%) of polystyrene wastes, which provides a significant strengthening and softening effect, was determined.

Gruzman V.M. Clay component monitoring device
A device has been developed for the operational monitoring of the clay component content, which allows determining its content in enriched sand within one minute. The same procedure by the method of elutriation is measured for hours. This circumstance makes it possible to obtain a large volume sample from a multi-ton batch of sand and obtain reliable information about the clay component in the total aggregate of the received batch of sand and the ability to adaptively expend expensive and environmentally hazardous molding binders.

The basic requirements for cast blanks and details of agricultural machinery are considered. The prospects of using the method of centrifugal casting in the production of workpieces for the repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery in Belarus are shown. On the basis of the analysis of a number of details of the agricultural machines having the sufficient program of production the choice of the equipment for centrifugal casting of JSC BELNIILITs design was selected.

Ashkeev Zh.A., Mashekov S.A., Bukanov Zh.U. Filling the die cavity with hardening metal when combining the casting and extrusion processes
The method of filling the die cavity with the metal gradually solidifying in a water-cooled mold in case of combination of casting and extrusion processes is described. Particular attention is paid to the concept of time synchronization at formation of the hardening layer and the opening of the die cavity or the die movement.
