Garchenko A.A., Korovin V.A., Maslov K.A., Belyaev S.V., Plokhov S.V. Ways to improve the durability of iron and steel molds
During the operation of cast-iron and steel ladders in conditions of cyclic thermal action, nets of heat, longitudinal and transverse cracks, shells, warping occur, which leads to a loss of strength and a reduction in the service life of the ladders. The features of micro-alloying and modification with Ni-Mo and FeV50 ligature and L-Cast 5.2, BARS 25 and INSTEEL-7 modifiers are investigated. The prospects of using micro-alloying and modification technology to increase the durability of cast iron and steel mills are shown.
Keywords: Cast-iron and steel mills, heat grid, cracks, micro-alloying, modification, durability.

Soyfer V.M. Improving the technology for production of acidic electric steel for casting
A review of own publications on the melting of cast steels in acid-lined electric furnaces, furnace lining and steel pouring from stopper ladles is given. The article summarizes the main stages of work covering the entire process of production of acidic electric steel for casting.
Key words: Cast steel, melting, pouring, furnace lining.

Malinov L.S., Malinov V.L., Gavrilova V.G. Heat treatment of steels with exposure in inter-critical interval of temperature to increase their properties
The expediency of normalizing, quenching and tempering, environmentally friendly isothermal quenching of the investigated steels, mainly cast steels, with austenitization, which includes an exposure in the intercritical interval of temperature (ICIT) is shown. The highest level of mechanical properties in the investigated steels in comparison with achieved after typical heat treatment technologies was obtained when heating for quenching to a typical austenitization temperature with previous or subsequent exposure to IСTI.
Keywords: Steels, quenching, intercritical interval of temperature, tempering, martensite, metastable austenite, ferrite, sorbite.

Marukovich E.I., Stetsenko V.Y., Stetsenko A.V. Effect of gases on crystallization of chromium nickel alloys
It has been shown that the main influence on the crystallization of chromium nickel alloys is hydrogen. It is a demodifying element of the casting structure. The mechanism of the influence of hydrogen on the crystallization of chromium nickel alloys can be explained from the position of nanostructured crystallization of metals and alloys. Dissolved hydrogen atoms, adsorbing on elementary nanocrystals of nickel and chromium in melts of chromium nickel alloys, prevent the combination of nanocrystals into nuclei of crystallization of microcrystals of ?-phase. As a result, castings with an unmodified structure are obtained. Reduction of hydrogen concentration in melts of chromium nickel alloys contributes to formation of modified structure in castings at their hardening.
Keywords: Nickel alloys, gases, crystallization, hydrogen, adsorption, melt, castings, structure, nanocrystals.

Prusov E.S., Kechin V.A., Deev V.B. Formation of porosity in the production of cast aluminum matrix composites by mechanical stirring
The influence of the technological particularities of manufacturing the Al-B4C aluminum matrix composites by mechanical stirring on the formation and evolution of defects in the cast structure has been studied. It was experimentally confirmed that the degree of porosity of the cast composite depends on the conditions of mechanical stirring of the melt and can be significantly reduced by a rational selection and control of technological parameters. The lowest content of ingot porosity was fixed at mixing boron carbide particles of F150 fraction at a frequency of impeller rotation 150...300 rpm, a melt temperature of 850?C, and a particle feeding rate 0.04...0.06 g/s.
Keywords: Cast aluminum matrix composites, boron carbide, mechanical stirring, ingot porosity.

Minenko G.N. Electric field treatment of alloys and special materials
The data on mechanical properties of cast alloys and special materials treated by an electric field are presented. A dependence of the specific electrical conductivity on the solidification time of gray iron is given. An influence of the electric field on the crystallization processes of alloys and special materials is considered.
Keywords: Cast alloys, crystallization, materials, electric field, electrical conductivity, mechanical properties.

Arinova S.К., Kvon S.S., Kulikov V.Yu., Issagulovа D.А., Aubakirov D.R., Аlina А.А. Influence of the model material and paint composition during CGP on the quality of the casting
The results of a study to determine the optimal composition of the model and the thickness of the non-stick paint layer for models used at lost foam casting are presented. A partial replacement of expensive foundry polystyrene with construction polystyrene at a 3/1 ratio and not more than 0.7 mm in particle size is proposed. Such a composition provides the necessary strength of the model and a sufficient rate of its burning. In order to improve the surface quality of castings, it is recommended to cover the model surface with SFP-01S fire-resistant paint additionally doped with titanium carbide powder. The optimal thickness of the paint layer should be 1.7 ... 2.2 mm.
Keywords: Lost foam casting, model, material, polystyrene, non-stick paint, casting, surface roughness.

Gutko Yu.I., Shinkareva T.A., Taranenko N.A. Investigation of the air environment of the HTS process
A study of the air environment of the HTS process was carried out. The workplaces where monitoring of the state of the air environment is necessary have been selected. The study showed that it is effective to use local exhaust ventilation, to ap-ply the suction of polluted air directly at the place where the mixture is released and the core box is filled with it. It is important to provide measures that exclude direct contact of personnel with the BSC and the mixture containing it.
Keywords: HTS, furan- and Cold box amin-processes, furan resin, phenolicresin, phenol and formaldehyde, furfural.
