Ageev Yu.A., Vlasova I.S., Vlasov V.N. Study of the oxidation of magnesium modifiers of cast iron
The article presents a study of the oxygen content in the commodity grains and screenings of the cast iron modifier grade FSMg7, supplied by JSC NIIM on TУ 14-5-320-2010. It is shown that the total oxygen content, determined by chemical analysis (Och), is the sum of its content in slag inclusions (Osl) and its amount associated with the metal surface atoms of the modifier (Osur). It is established that Osl in the commodity grains and screenings modifier different fractions in the same way. The concentration of oxygen Osur is inversely proportional to the size of the modifier particles: Osur = k/l , where k = 0.123% mm, l – linear particle size, mm. The average content of Osur in the modifier’s commodity grains with a particle size of 1…5 mm does not exceed 0.05% wt., in screenings with a particle size of less than 1 mm – 0.48%.
Keywords: Magnesium modifier of cast iron, commodity grains, screenings, oxygen, slag inclusions, surface concentration, particle size, fraction.

Illarionov I.E., Smirnov E.A., Zhirkov E.N., Strelnikov I.A. Development of non-stick coatings for casting molds and cores using borate compounds
Based on the experimental data obtained, an effective non-stick coating has been developed with the following composition, wt.%: graphite – 40; bentonite – 10; binder – 0.5; borate compound (GBKO, GBKL, GBKLN) – 16. Molds and rods coated with developed non-stick coatings had a clean surface without smudges or sagging. After drying, the surface layer had no cracks, and the adhesion of the non-stick layer to the substrate was good. All steel and cast iron castings had a clean surface.
Keywords: Casting molds and cores, non-stick coatings, glyceroborate complex of oleic acid, density, viscosity, suspension, sedimentation resistance, compressive strength, abrasion strength, hiding power, burn on the surface of the casting.
Znamensky L.G., Zakharov N.A., Sinitsyn E.A. Ceramic rods on the base of “Neorganica” binder for castings intended for the oil and gas industry
The article analyzes the processes of manufacturing ceramic rods. In order to improve, the technology of manufacturing ceramic rods from inorganic, environmentally friendly domestic materials were developed. The effectiveness of the development was achieved through the use of an aqueous metallophosphate binder "Inorganic" and mullitized fillers of domestic production. The composition and properties of the molding materials were studied using quantitative X-ray phase analysis, derivatography and dilatometry, and the physical and mechanical characteristics of the obtained ceramic rods were determined. Experimental and industrial tests of the developed technology at LITPRO LLC (Chelyabinsk) have shown the possibility of reducing the defect of a narrow-channel solid-cast rotor for sectional centrifugal pumps (SCP) and improving the quality of their manufacture.
Keywords: Investment casting, cold-hardening rods, ceramic rod, binder "Inorganic", mullitized filler, oil and gas complex.
Verbitsky V.I. Vibropress molding machines
A fairly simple design of the press unit of a vibrator molding machine is presented, and an analysis of its operation and effectiveness in the manufacture of half-molds of different heights is performed. Computer modeling made it possible to select drive parameters close to optimal, taking into account the imposed restrictions. It has been confirmed that with the correct choice of parameters of the press and vibrator, it is possible to achieve high compaction of the mixture in a very short time for low casting molds.

Mikhailov O.V., Yemelyanov V.O., Druzhevsky M.A., Sokolov A.V. Customer-oriented approach in art castings
The development of market relations sets the task for manufacturers of artistic casting to meet the needs of customers as much as possible. Satisfaction of demand moves into the plane of studying the causes of emotions that artistic casting causes. The psychology of consumption became the basis for the development of a compositional solution. We realize the manufacturer's interest in maximizing the production load, provided that the products are sold. At the same time, the product must be suitable for the customer not only in terms of meeting demand, but also to win in competition with other manufacturers. A symbolic approach is appropriate here, reflecting the mood in society, its history and development prospects.
Keywords: Artistic casting, psychology of consumption, consumer motivation, symbolic representation, foundry, integrated approach.
