A new composition of chromium-aluminum cast iron with nodular graphite, which has high heat resistance, wear resistance and strength at operating temperatures of the rollers of finishing trains of hot rolling mills and a technology of centrifugal casting of roller bodies from this material has been developed. The chemical composition the developed cast iron is as follows, %: 3.0…3.6 C; 2.0…2.6 Si; up to 0.6 Mn; 0.8…2.0 Al; 0.4…0.6 Cr; up to 1.0 Ni.

Panov A.G., Gurtov D.A., Shayekhova I.F., Gimazetdinova Ch.A., Malanova D.D. Prospects for cast iron and tasks of material science of cast iron intended for aircraft engine production
The results of development of mechanical properties of cast irons, modern examples and prospects of their application in aircraft engine building are presented. It is shown that during the last half a century cast irons have achieved higher specific gravity and, moreover, higher specific volume mechanical properties which gives reason to introduce them in aircraft engine construction instead of aluminum alloys without increasing their weight and with increasing power and service life of engines at least in small aircraft, first of all for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Keywords: High-strength cast iron, aircraft engine construction.

Koltygin A.V., Pavlov A.V. Influence of Gd and Y on the properties of the casting alloy in the Mg-Nd-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr system
This work presents the results of researches on the mechanical properties and engineering properties of the cast alloy of the Mg-Nd-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr system. The positive effect of Gd and Y on castings made from magnesium casting alloys has been demonstrated. The following values were obtained for the heat-treated alloy UTS equal to 325 ±2.2 MP a; EL equal to 4.7 ± 0.3%; YS equal to 227 ± 1.3 MPa.
Keywords: Magnesium alloy, casting, Mg-Gd-Nd-Y-Zn-Zr, high strength alloy, light alloys.
Korostelev V.F. Improvement of injection molding processes
Improving the quality of castings in the presented work is associated with improving the physical and mechanical properties, with the formation of a homogeneous structure without shrinkage defects of the crystallizing metal due to more efficient use of pressure. Based on the analysis of the results of the performed research and generalization of production experience, a schematic diagram of the process of applying pressure and crimping metal before crystallization, followed by pressing out of the 12...14% of the poured metal volume from under a hard crust to compensate for shrinkage under pressure, is developed. The behavior of metal under pressure is discussed, and solutions aimed at using the process on an industrial scale are proposed.
Keywords: Casting, castings, pressure, volumetric shrinkage compensation, pressure control, algorithm, application potential.
