Bestouzhev A.N., Bestouzhev N.I. Trends in the development of technology of modification of high-quality cast iron
The article gives classification of control methods of cast structure. Considered effective methods treatment of liquid cast iron, which allows to increase operational properties of machine-building castings, the mechanism of the graphitizing action of siliceous modifiers, effect of chemical composition, method of production and the content of non-metallic inclusions of modifiers on their ability to graphitizing. Proposed the highly effective inoculant.
Key words: Cast iron, modification, graphitization, oxides, carbides, nitrides, ultradisperse powders, nanopowders, modifiers.

Wu Wan Gui, Balanovsky A.Y., Kondratyev V.V. On the surface inoculation of steel castings in the process of plasma-arc remelting
Presented are data on the possibility of surface inoculation of steel products in the process of plasma-arc remelting for changing the properties, structure and chemical composition in the thin surface layer. Information on the main advantages of that processing method is presented. Special attention is given to the issue of removing S and P from the surface metal layers – plasma processing with melting the surface. The changes in the structure and chemical composition of surface layers were analyzed.
Key words: Desulphurization, dephosphorization, plasmaarc remelting, plasma processing, inoculation, plasma hardening, microhardness.

Bazhenov V.E., Fadeev A.V., Koltygin A.V., Deyev V.B., Efremov A.A. Investigation of phase and chemical composition of alumina-mullite crucibles for melting of Ni-based alloys
Investigated the material of crucible, intended for Ni-based alloys melting, produced by ALD (Germany), MMP and «Bakor» (Russian Federation) manufacturers. The results of Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy X-ray difraction analysis shows the aluminamullite base of the crucibles. It was shown the different mullite/alumina ratio. Analysis of the fracture of crucible samples shown the same fracture behavior. The difference in composition of refractory material is caused by using of different raw materials during the manufacturing process.
Key words: Alumina, alumina-mullite crucible, slip casting, melting of the Ni-based alloys, refractory material.

Romanyuk V.V., Nikitin V.I, Nikitin K.V. Synthesizing silumins using scrap of aluminum wrought alloys
The results of synthesis of silumins with usingscrap of aluminum wrought alloys are showed. The silumins AK6M2, AK7ch and AK9ch are synthesized with using aluminum shavings and scrap of aluminum cans. The analysis of microstructure and mechanical properties of synthesized alloys are showed. It was established that through heredity of charge including aluminum scrap enhances the mechanical properties and made better the microstructure of aluminum alloys.
Key words: Recycling, scrap, synthesis, heredity, silumin, mechanical properties, microstructure.

Kovtunov A.I., Khokhlov Y.Y., Myamin S.V. Mechanical properties of foamed aluminum reinforced with titanium
Technology has been offered for liquid phase formation of foamed aluminum reinforced with titanium wire. Metallographic study of intermediate layer and tests of mechanical properties of reinforced foamed aluminum have been conducted.
Key words: Foamed aluminum, titanium, reinforcement, wire, aluminum melt, flux, surface activation.

Uskov D.I., Belyayev S.V., Uskov I.V., Gilmanshina T.R., Gubanov I.Y. Development of compositions of jewellery alloys of the Pd-Cu-Ag system
Discussed is the procedure for particular determination of temperature values of liquidus and solidus when synthesizing palladiumbased jewellery alloys. A high convergence of the results of theoretical calculations and experimental data has been established. Presented are the results of metallographic examinations of the alloys obtained.
Key words: Palladium, jewellery alloys, state diagrams.

Afanasyev V.K., Malyukh M.A., Popova M.V., Dolgova S.V., Lavrova N.B. Hydrogen and heat treatment aluminum alloys
It is proposed to assume that the alloys of the aluminum – metal are not double but triple (Al-Me-H). It is found that hydrogen is actively involved in the processes of dissolution or formation of intermediate phases, adjust hardening and softening. The most effective ways of changing the gas content, should be considered the treatment of the melt, the choice of crystallization conditions and heat treatment. To date, however, when considering the basic heat treatment and its effects on the third component of the system or completely ignored, or considers only the negative aspects of his influence (micro- and macroporosity, delamination during rolling, defectiveness of welded joints, etc.). Examines the involvement of hydrogen in the formation of the properties of aluminium alloys of type Al-Mg with homogenization, aging and burnout.
Key words: Hydrogen, aluminum alloys, homogenization, aging, burnout.

Mochalin I.V., Ten E.B. Production of continuous-cast wire blanks from Cu-Ni and Ni alloys
Investigations confirmed the possibility of making small-diameter bar-and-wire blanks from Cu-Ni and Ni alloys by continuous casting, which makes it possible to exclude many low-effectivity and expensive operations from the production process.
Key words: Continuous casting, wire blank, graphite haping bushing, crystallizer.

Sulitsin A.V., Mysik R.K., Brusnitsyn S.V. Formation of gas porosity in continuous cast copper castings
Discussed are the defects of copper rod produced by combined method of casting and rolling, in particular, gas porosity. Proposed are techniques allowing to reduce those defects in the blank.
Key words: Gas porosity, melt, casting, gas analyzer, nitrogen, oxygen, micropores.
