Rovin L.E., Rovin S.L., Nasevich I.S. Technical progress in cupola melting
The article provides examples of modernization of cupolas by equipping it with systems of heat recovery, emission purification and automatic control. It was shown how the modernization of cupola furnaces makes it possible to increase their thermal efficiency, increase the interrepair cycle of the melting production, decrease the coke consumption, sharply reduce CO emissions into the atmosphere, and improve the quality of iron.

Rudnitskii F.I., Kulikov S.A., Shumigai V.A. The use of surface energy of ultrafine particles in the development of nanomodifying complexes
The results of studies on the influence of particles of metal-abrasive sludge used as a potential modifier of gray cast irons are presented. In the experiments, the effect of the metallic and nonmetallic components of the sludge was clarified and the prevailing effect of metal particles was established. An assumption is made about the mechanism of the effect of dispersed additives from the point of view of the phenomenon of self-organization in ultrafine systems. The increase in the strength of СЧ20 cast iron as a result of introducing sludge into the melt reaches 25%.

Soyfer V.M. On acid lining of the arc steel-melting furnaces
The article presents data on the working conditions of an acid lining, grain composition, the choice of binders, processing characteristics, refractoriness of the mixtures, and lining resistance. Recommendations for the selection of refractory mixtures for lining are given.

Afanasyev V.K., Dolgova S.V., Popova M.V., Sagalakova M.M., Chernysh A.P. On the nature of dark and light in the microstructure of pure iron
The earliest stages of the interaction of Fe with the environment containing from HCNO ("etching, h") are referred to as identification of the microstructure and the result of the chemical interaction of the microstructure. At magnifications of the optical microscope up to ?750 there are two extreme types of microstructure Fe – Dark and Light, separated by semi-light and semi-dark. Dark and Light are two inseparable parts of the HCNO system, which is the basis for the construction of Fe, i.e. T in iron is HCN, and C is NON. Found that unusual with the generally accepted positions of the heating at 40, 100 and 350°C with in the air and the atmosphere water vapor can significantly increase the dark. Regulation of the ratio of components of the HCNO complex is the regulation of T and C in the microstructure, and hence all properties of Fe.

Kotlyarsky F.M. Existing conceptions of gas shrinkage defects in castings made of aluminum alloys
The different points of view on the mechanisms of formation of gas and shrinkage defects in the castings of aluminum alloys, as well as measures of their elimination, taking into account resource saving are presented.

Gorokhov Yu.V., Uskov I.V., Gubanov I.Yu., Gubanova M.I. Technology of obtaining fine dispersed powder for solders of pastes on the basis of aluminum
The purpose of this work was to study technological regimes and the development on the basis of computer simulation of technological equipment for dispersing powders of soldering aluminum alloys. For its achievement, technical and technological features of the scheme for obtaining powders from aluminum alloys intended for soldering waveguides are considered. A computer study was carried out in the package of the engineering analysis of Solidworks Flow Simulation of the influence of the geometry of the structural components of the tooling on the parameters of the melt dispersion AK12C10. A description is given of a laboratory apparatus for dispersing a melt of AK12C10, on which a pilot batch of a 70 ?m powder with a mass of 400 g was produced and transferred for industrial tests when soldering aluminum waveguides.

The structure and properties of intermetallic alloys intended to make functional coatings using the electro-spark alloying were investigated. The alloys were produced by the centrifugal casting into a graphite mold.

Chumanov I.V., Lutkov V.N., Sergeev D.V. To the question of modeling the process of electroslag remelting when receiving a hollow workpiece on the single electrode scheme
A simple scheme for obtaining a hollow billet by electroslag remelting (ESR) is Proposed. The efficiency is due to the implementation of a simple single-electrode ESR scheme. The expediency of rotation of the consumable electrode during the process for better work of the sewing mandrel is proved. The need to determine the specific value of the electrode rotation for the delivery of the electrode metal in the annular gap between the crystallizer and the piercing mandrel is shown. Simulation modeling of the motion of liquid droplets of electrode metal is proposed. The calculation of the speed of rotation of the electrode for the selected simulation parameters. A cold model of the electroslag process for obtaining a hollow billet was developed and constructed.

Titova Yu.V., Maidan D.A., Belova G.S., Amosov A.P. Preparation of ceramic nanopowder compositions by the azide technology of SHS
The possibility of obtaining of ceramic nitride-carbide nanopowder compositions of Si3N4-TiC and AlN-SiC by azide technology of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis was investigated. The synthesis conditions, chemical and phase compositions, morphology and particle sizes of the synthesized products were determined. It is shown that the SHS-Az technology allows to synthesize the target nitride-carbide compositions of Si3N4-TiC and AlN-SiC with a purity of 96,2 wt. % and 91,6 wt. % respectively.
