Soifer V.M. Deoxidation of acid carbon steel with ferromanganese in a ladle
The article analyzes the methods of deoxidation of steel with ferromanganese, outlines the essence of a new technology of steel melting in acid-lined electric furnaces, describes the procedure of deoxidation with ferromanganese in a ladle, provides data on melting losses and consumption of ferromanganese, on the stability of the manganese content in steel, on the content of residual aluminum, on the labor consumption of cleaning of steel-pouring ladles, and on the equalizing the temperature of the steel in the ladle.

Minenko G.N. A method of changing the iron properties by processing with an electric field
The article describes the method of electrical influence on the iron melt. A change in mechanical properties and the value of carbon equivalent has been revealed. The change in the graphiteization of gray cast iron under the influence of the electric field is described.

Tsvetkov A.S., Knyazyuk T.V., Teplukhina I.V., Novoskoltsev N.S. Analysis of dynamic and post-dynamic recrystallization kinetics in new radiation-resistant austenitic steel
Obtaining the required grain size and grinding it for steel with an austenitic structure is possible only at the stage of hot plastic deformation as a result of recrystallization processes. In this article, the threshold deformations of the beginning of dynamic recrystallization and the kinetics of metadynamic and static recrystallization are determined for the new reactor steel depending on the temperature (900…1200?C) and the deformation rate (10-2…10-3 s-1). Maps of dynamic and post-dynamic structure-forming processes that can be used for setting the forging mode for large-sized ring blanks made of new radiation-resistant austenitic steel on a hydraulic press are constructed.

Rudenko S.P., Valko A.L., Sandomirskii S.G. About applicability of steel 20MnCrS5 for gears of the domestic mobile machines
Evaluation of applicability of 20MnCrS5 steel for gears of transmissions of mobile machines, manufactured according to European standard EN 10084 was carried out. Experimental and virtual simulation of hardenability of the steel according to the updated method was realized. The assessment of the applicability of 20MnCrS5 case-hardening steel for gears of the domestic mobile machines was made by the criterion of obtaining the cross section of the tooth structures with a hardness 32 HRC for core, 50 HRC for semi-conversion zone, 61…63 HRC for the diffusion layer excluding other physical and mechanical properties of steel. It is established that at the content of alloying elements close to the maximum limit, the use of this steel is possible for gears with a module up to 10 mm.

Malinov L.S., Burova D.V. Improving the properties of medium-carbon low-tempered steels
The possibility of increasing the mechanical properties and abrasion resistance of medium-carbon low-tempered steels by quenching with holding in the intercritical temperature interval (ITI) and heating before or after it to the austenitization temperature is shown. Such heat treatment creates a multiphase structure in steels with metastable residual austenite, which undergoes a dynamic deformation martensitic transformation (DDMT) – self-quenching effect under loading (SQL).

Zaharov D.A., Zhadyaev A.A. Ways to improve the quality of carbide weapons of drill bits
This work describes ways to obtain a stable quality of carbide weapons of cone drill bits at the production of JSC «Volgaburmash». The influence of the strength of tungsten carbide grains, as well as alloying of hard alloys, on the performance characteristics of hard-alloy buttons of drill bits has been investigated. A comparison of the physical and mechanical properties and crack resistance of the WC-10%Co alloy produced by JSC "Volgaburmash" and the imported analog is given. The influence of various modes of sintering of a hard facing grain hard alloy on its structure is investigated. The mechanical methods of the uniform structure of the surfacing grain hard alloy are established.

Vaytsekhovich S.M., Barayev A.V., Zhuravlev A.U. Producing hard-to-form and refractory metals using diagonal flow and simple shear combination
The analysis of the current development of plastic deformation technologies and the main provisions of the technology of plastic processing of hard-to-form materials by the diagonal flow method. The method of development of the technological process of extrusion of bars by the method of diagonal plastic deformation is described. The effect of non-monotonic deformation on the mechanical properties of the final product is shown. The data of experimental studies of the diagonal flow of metal during the extrusion of semi-finished products from molybdenum through the point of an ossesymmetric matrix are presented. Based on the analysis of the stress-strain state of the processes of axisymmetric extrusion of a plastically inhomogeneous body, the requirements for a tool that provides a diagonal flow of metal are formulated.

Vereschagin M.N., Tselueva S.N., Tseluev M.Yu. Modification of surface layers of metal parts by pulse laser processing
Pulse melting of small volumes of metal on the surface provides homogeneous liquids (melts), which, after crystallization, can fix the structure of a liquid with unique properties. The presence of three energy input ranges for pulsed laser surface treatment (ILPO) has been established. At an average level of energy input, a process of laser surfacing of the material occurs, while a high adhesive bond between the coating and the workpiece is fixed. The deposition of an amorphized iron-based alloy coating on a metal base of St3, 45 20X13 steels begins at a laser radiation density on the treatment surface of 1800…2000 W/mm2, and alloying at 3500…4000 W/mm2. With ILPO, the laser exposure zone (ZLV) has a layered structure – the fusion zone (ZO), the heat-affected zone (HAZ), and the source material zone.
