Soifer V.M. About liquid glass as a part of acid monolithic lining of walls of arc steel-melting furnaces
The article indicates the temperature ranges within which the lining of the walls of the arc steel-melting furnace should have high strength. Choosing liquid glass as a binder is justified; lining hardening mechanisms at ambient temperature and during heating, as well as lining sintering mechanisms and formation of tridymite are described. Data on the modulus of liquid glass, other characteristics, and silicate block are given.
Keywords: liquid glass, lining, arc steel-melting furnace, temperature, furnace walls, strength, environment, heating, sintering, tridymite, silicate module, silicate block.

Getman A.A.The main directions of the development of materials science when creating the new equipment
The properties of special alloys based on titanium, vanadium, zirconium, niobium, beryllium and lithium were given in comparison with those of widely used aluminum alloys. The analysis of the properties of ceramic products, as well as parts made from composite materials, the prospects for the use of powder metallurgy was given.
Keywords:Development of physics and chemistry for the development of new materials, technology of their consumption.

Afanasyev V.K., Popovа M.V., Chernysh A.P., Dolgova S.V., Malyutin K.G., Sagalakovа M.M. Some results and prospects for the development of non-alloy high-strength cast iron
Systematized and reinterpreted information about cast iron of various groups. It is concluded that white non-alloyed cast iron under very simple conditions of production and processing can be a very promising material compared to the existing expensive high-alloyed. Thus, the influence of crystallization conditions and subsequent thermocyclic processing on the mechanical properties of the white non-alloyed cast iron is considered. It was found that the white non-alloyed cast iron can have a temporary tensile resistance of 490 MPa, whereas for alloyed cast iron grades CHH16M2 and CHH28P-the value of ?b does not exceed 200 MPa. For unalloyed cast iron, high strength was obtained for the first time (?b = 550…600, and ?0,2 = 490…550 MPa) after heating at low temperatures of 450…500?C. This completely changes the generally accepted provisions on the basics of heat treatment of Fe-C alloys.
Keywords: White unalloyed cast iron, crystallization, heat treatment, microstructure, mechanical properties.

Davydov S.V. Carbide transformation of peritectoid into Fe–C-alloys
Metallographic studies of annealed medium carbon steel (steel 45, steel 40X and steel 35ХГСA) showed that in perlite of these steels runs low-temperature carbide transformation of peritectoid type, in which the solid solutions of ferrite and cement form a solid solution of a wide area of homogeneity based on ?-karbide Fe2C. It has been suggested to enter the peritectoid transformation horizontal at 382?C and the peritectic transformation horizontal of cement at 1650?C into the Fe–C alloy state diagram.
Keywords: Peritectoid transformation, peritectic transformation, coloronide, bertollide, cement solid solution, ?-carbide Fe2C, perlite, ferrite.

Kalinichenko V.A., Kalinichenko A.S., Grigoriev S.V. Particularities of structure formation of aluminum-copper composite materials manufactured by casting technology
To create friction pairs operating in severe working conditions, composite materials are now increasingly used. Composite materials obtained with the use of casting technologies are of interest due to the possibility to manufacture wide range of compositions at low price compared to powder metallurgy. In the present work the composite materials on the basis of silumin reinforced with copper granules were considered. Attention was paid to the interaction between the matrix alloy and the reinforcing phase material as determining the properties of the composite material. The analysis of distribution of the basic alloying elements in volume of composite material and also in zones of the interphases interaction is carried out. The analysis of the possibility of obtaining a strong interphase zone of contact between the reinforcing component and the matrix material without significant dissolution of the reinforcing material is carried out.
Keywords: Composite materials, casting technologies, aluminum alloys, copper alloys, antifriction materials, wear-resistant materials.

Akhmetzyanov B.N., Vasilieva A.V. The use of cadmium-based alloys
Information on the properties of cadmium, its interaction with the atmosphere, some alkalis and nitrates is given. The use of cadmium and alloys based on it is considered as applied to various industries, including nuclear energy. Especially important is the ability of cadmium to absorb neutrons, which makes it an indispensable material for the manufacture of control and emergency rods of nuclear reactors.
Keywords: Cadmium, alloys, use.

Sidorov A.Yu., Deev V.B., Frolov V.F., Belyaev S.V., Kostin I.V., Prusov E.S., Aksenov A.A. Modeling the porosity formation during semi-continuous casting of large-sized flat ingots from aluminum alloys
A predictive assessment of the effect of casting speed and the melt level in the mold on the value and distribution of porosity in the volume of large-sized flat ingots of sizes 600?1630 mm and 600?1750 mm made of 5XXX series aluminum alloys by the semi-continuous casting method was carried out. It was found that an increase in casting speed from 40 to 60 mm/min and a melt level in the mold from 45 to 57 mm leads to an increase in the average porosity over the cross section of the ingots. The minimum average porosity in the cross section of the ingot is predicted at a metal level in the mold of 45 mm and a casting speed of 40 mm/min, being 0.169% for 600?1630 mm ingot and 0.174% for 600?1750 mm ingot under these conditions.
Keywords: 5XXX series aluminum alloys, semi-continuous casting, large-sized flat ingots, modeling, porosity.

Kogteva A.V., Nikitin K.V., Klimov V.G., Zhatkin S.S. Application of furnace soldering in the manufacture of the collector coils of a turbopump unit rocket engines
The article deals with the process of adapting furnace soldering with an increased degree of automation, instead of using manual soldering with the flame of an acetylene-oxygen burner using brass solder L63, in the manufacture of the coil collector of a turbopump unit (TNA) of a rocket engine. A new design of soldered connection of tubes and collector using a telescopic joint is proposed. This design has an increased level of manufacturability, allowing you to completely assemble the node for placing it in the furnace, and the increased area of the junction increases the strength of the soldered connection and increases its tightness. The new design prevents the formation of cracks in the body of the tubes as much as possible due to the reduction of the resulting stresses.
Keywords: Solder furnace, controlled atmosphere, gap soldering, soldered seam structure.

Shcherbakov V.G. Microhardness testing of diffusively-alloyed Cu–Zn-alloys
The work reveals the results of microhardness testing of diffusion zinc layers formed on a copper fiber using a diffusion method in a movable saturating powder medium. The possibility of increasing ductility and lowering the sintering temperature of fibers from copper alloys by their preliminary thermal diffusion galvanizing is shown.
Keywords: Sherardizing, copper fiber, microhardness.
