Doroshenko V.S. About simple solutions to produce ductile irons
In order to simplify the equipment for feeding a relatively lightweight inoculant of the FSMg type into the bottom layer of the molten iron within the time of ladle inoculation, a brief review of the most common methods of the ladle inoculation of ductile iron was carried out and three methods for production of spheroidal graphite iron are proposed, first of all, for ladles with a capacity of hundreds of kilograms to several tons. These developments are based on research made by the Physical-Technological Institute of Metals and Alloy (PTIMA) of the NAS of Ukraine.

Davydov S.V. Diagram of the state of alloys the system iron-carbid ε-Fе2C. Part I. Evolution of iron-carbid diagram
At present, there are significant "white" areas where the structure of the iron-carbon phase diagram is not finally established - in the ranges of temperatures, compositions and pressures not directly related to the production of iron and steel. This applies above all to the carbide region of the diagram lying on the right side of the cement line. The main problems of the diagram, to which it should be referred, are considered: lack of complete physical and chemical identification of key carbide phases; lack of phase transformation areas with their participation in the structure of existing iron-carbon alloy state diagrams; hypothetical assumptions about the phase structure of the carbide region of the diagram; uncertainty about the physical nature and homogeneity of cement.

Kazakov A.A., Oryshchenko A.S., Fomina O.V., Zhitenev A.I., Vikhareva T.V. Control of delta-ferrite nature in nitrogen-containing Cr–Ni–Mn-steels
Behavior of ?-ferrite during crystallization, solidification and subsequent cooling of solid nitrogen-containing stainless steel of different compositions has been studied by thermodynamic simulation methods. The results were confirmed experimentally and can serve as a basis to justify the composition and processing parameters of steel at all stages, for example, to provide the controlled ?-ferrite content during the hot plastic deformation and welding or most complete dissolution of ?-ferrite during the austenitization.

Belov E.V., Duyunova V.A., Leonov A.A., Trapeznikov A.V. Prospects for the Use of Polymeric Quenching Media for Al- and Mg-Alloys
Based on the studies carried out, the possibility of using environmentally friendly, easy-to-use polymers as a quenching medium for low-deformation quenching of cast aluminum and magnesium alloys has been substantiated. The effect of an aqueous solution of PK-2 at concentration on a decrease in the magnitude of deformation on the VAL14, VML18, VML20 and VML25 alloys has been established.

Lovshenko F.G., Fedosenko A.S. Plasma coatings made of mechanically synthesized composite powders based on the system Fe–Al
The regularities of the formation of plasma coatings obtained from powders based on the Fe–Al system synthesized by the reaction mechanical alloying method are established. The influence of the processing modes of the compositions in the mechanoreactor on the properties of coatings is revealed. An effective method for controlling the porosity of co atings from developed powders based on a change in the power consumed by the installation is proposed. Heat treatment increases the density and hardness of coatings and reduces porosity. The study of coating samples after high temperature indicates high heat resistance and the preservation of the microcrystalline type of structure of their bases.

Malinov L.S., Burova D.V., Malysheva I.E. Getting the required level of mechanical properties of the construction steels of energy-saving treatment with heating in the intercritical temperature range
It is shown that with rational thermo-time modes of heating and holding in the intercritical temperature range, quenching from it and tempering of investigated structural steels, as well as environmentally friendly methods of intermittent and isothermal quenching, allow to obtain the required level mechanical properties. At the same time, energy consumption is reduced in comparison with standard heat treatment, in some cases the use of expensive and fire-hazardous oil and non-environmentally friendly molten salts (alkalis) are excluded.
