Khudokormov D.A. et al. Experience of Producing Cilpeps Castings from White Iron with Higher Hardness
Process of producing cilpeps castings from irons with special properties without using expensive ferroalloys for alloying has been developed and checked out. Chemical composition of iron has been selected. The process of making iron - from charging the cupola to running first metal portions from it - has been scrupulously worked out.

Afonaskin A.V. et al. Improving the Process of Making Grade 110G13L High-Manganese Steel
Effect of complex inoculation of steel with inoculants containing rare-earth metals and magnesium on the structure formation and wear resistance of castings has been investigated. The work resulted in practical conclusions, establishing the optimum process of inoculating grade 110G13L steel. Industrial testing of the process has shown its high effectiveness, also on castings operating at low temperatures.

Panfilov A.V. et al. Wear Resistance of Composite Pistons Made by Casting with Crystallization under Pressure
There were explored wear resistance and score resistance of standard aluminum alloys of eutectic composition (АК12 and АК12М2МгН) and MMc on their base. There were installed influences amount reinforcement phase (SiC) and its dispersion of MMC on tribological characteristics. It was installed that MMC on the base of АК12М2МгН with contents 2,5 - 5 % reinforcement phase (SiC) size 5 and 14 mcm possess high wear resistance and smaller aptitude to formation score.

Mirzoyan A.G. Effect of Solidification Rate on the Quality of Centrifugally Cast Grinding Rolls
A process of producing quality grinding rolls has been worked through and recommended. A commercial batch has been cast. Operation tests of centrifugally cast rolls have shown that their durability is 3 to 4 times higher than that of rolls produced by a conventional casting method.

Yevlampiyev A.A. et al. General Provisions and Recommendations for Choosing Preparation Processes and Compositions of Molding Sands
The work discusses the main causes of instability of the molding sand properties and shows measures of preventing negative consequences of parameter deviations. Recommendations on running the processes of preparing return sand and molding sand for achieving the required technological and physico-chemical properties are given. Ranges of molding sand components content depending on the type of alloy are given.

Kamenev V.D. et al. Investment Casting for Power Engineering Machinery
The work presents several technical solutions that provide high production culture, strict control of quality of materials and equipment being used, which allows achieving preset process parameters in all stages of technology.

Ivanov V.V. et al. About the Necessity of Controlling the Conditions of Evacuating V-Process Molds
The V-process technology requires optimization of a number of parameters, one of the basic ones being the negative pressure ?p in the porous space of the mold filler. There are automatic control systems for assessing the adjustment of this and other parameters. A device that reacts to the change in ?p during mold pouring and adjusts its value is described.

Gnezdov Y.N. Methods of Decreasing the Reactivity of Coke
Reduction of the quantity of CO formed in the cupola charge and reduction of coke consumption can be achieved by decreasing the reactivity of coke, which depends on the area of interaction of coke and CO2. Investigations have shown that the maximum positive influence on the decrease of the reactivity of coke is exerted by the impregnation of coke with an aqueous solution of chamotte with the chamotte to coke ratio of about 0.3/1.

Galkin S.A. Investigation into the Processes of Assimilating Alloying Materials Taking into Consideration the Metal Movement
Models of metal agitation and prediction of chemical composition of alloys based on the assimilation of alloying elements have been developed and studied. Teaching computer software has been created. The models obtained make it possible, accurately and with minimum alloying additions consumption, to achieve their required content, in particular, in steel, which provides significant savings.
