Makarevich A.P. et al. Effect of the Method of Adding an Inoculant on the Structure of High-Strength Iron
The results of the researches of influence of method of injection of the conditioning agent VL 63(M ) on the structure of high - strength cast - iron with spherical graphite while casting both according to the consumable patterns and into ordinary hollow green - sand molds are displayed. The obtained results showed advantages of inside - mold modification comparing with the treatment of cast iron in the open ladle and also showed more favorable terms of forming spherical graphite while casting according to the consumable patterns comparing with casting into hollow molds. While casting according to the consumable patterns the optimal method of spheroidizing treatment of cast iron is the inside - mold modification with the use of reaction chambers of bottom location.

Kosyachkov V.A. Enhancement of Casting Production Process by Inoculating Cast Iron in the Mold
The perspective technological methods of elaboration of bimetallic pig-iron castings with the tenacious matrix basis and firm wear resistant surface by using modification of some volume of the metal in reaction chamber of the gating system of the mould are reviewed.

Budagyants N.A. et al. Peculiarities of Structure and Properties Formation in the Working Layer of a Forming Roll
In the work the researches results of structure and level properties of bimetallic high-alloying rolls of difference sizes and types have been described. The influence of chemical composition and speed of rolls cooling on quantitative correlation of components in structure of their working layer has been studied. The connection of researches rolls' structure with level their properties has been established.

Yamshinsky M.M. et al. Performance Attributes of Cast Chromium-Nickel Steels
The performance attributes of these steels have been practically not studied. The work is aimed at studying the scale resistance of steels in different environments: air atmosphere, in the presence of carbonic acid gas and water vapor in gas environment; determining the character of changing in thermal conductivity and electric conductivity depending on the chemical composition of chromium-aluminum steels. The investigations conducted allowed making conclusions that are recommended to be taken into account in casting production processes.

Murasov M.E., Zatulskiy G.Z., Gzovskiy K.Yu., Makarevich A.P. Influence of Ni, Ti, B, Al-Ti-C-N alloy additions on phase transformations of the shape memory bronze Cu-12Al-4Mn. Structural changes of the bronzes after tempering.
The influence of B, Ni, Ti and Al-Ti-C-N alloy additions on phase transformations and structure of the shape memory bronze Cu-12Al-4Mn was investigated with the use of direct thermal analysis. It was marked that boron modification of aluminum bronze as well as micro alloying with Al-Ti-C-N alloy leads to increasing thermo-mechanical properties. On the hypothesis of metastable cluster groups initiation is explained a mechanism of the structure forming in bronze Cu-12Al-4Mn. Conclusions about the thermal stability of investigated alloys have been made.

Ivanchenko D.V. Using of fluoride and oxide zirconium for modification Al-Mg casting alloys
The opportunity of use of fluoride and oxide zirconium for increase of mechanical properties of Al-Mg casting alloys is theoretically proved and experimentally confirmed by the example of foundry aluminium-magnesium alloy АMg5K.

Makarevich A.P. et al. Complex Activated Bentonite for Green Sand Molding
The work has been done by the Foundry Sub-faculty together with OAO Zavod Utyazhelitelei (= Weighting Agent Works). The aim set is the enhancement of processing characteristics of molding sands by using therein a special compound that, along with the binding properties of bentonite, would comprise the necessary carbon-containing additives. Such a compound was named complex activated bentonite (CAB). An experimental lot of CAB has been successfully tested in production conditions.

Samarai V.P. et al. Computer -Aided Prediction and Diagnostics of Casting Defects Based on Simulation of Mold Compaction
The authors describe the concept prediction of casting faults caused by a mold or a core and detection of reasons with help of Expert System.

Kvasha F.S. et al. Possibilities of Stabilizing Strength in the Condensation Zone of Clay-Bonded Molding Sands
An important property of molding sands - tensile strength in the moisture condensation zone - has been singled out. Factors influencing the magnitude of strength have been examined in detail. The importance of controlling this value, as well as the water being used, and using additional activation of bentonite has been emphasized.
